I think we can all agree that Dec. 19 is the last possible day it can come out this year. Again, keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best at this point.

Releasing it on December 19th would be totally half-assed and kill any chance at commercial success this album ever had. Although given the ineptitude Axl and management has shown thus far in terms of business savvy I guess it wouldn't surprise me.

I just love to visit this site and see people out there that still believe that 2006 is the year. ? Even when faced with the fact that GNR pulled the Harley ad, put a kabosh on the Rolling Stone article and has not utter one word about the album during their shows (don't you find that one odd?), even with all that and much much more .... some of you are still willing to believe in 2006.

I know you want it to happen, bnut doesn't common sense (and all the signs) point to this not happening in 2006? ?Why do you guys choose to believe the most expoensive album of all time will be released without fanfare and without promotion?

I'd like to know why. ?Is it stupidity or naievity or youth or what?

I don't understand... what are you trying to say??

...So this is basically as good as BBC claiming the 19th. ?yes

I'm going by a lot of your opinions of this particular list, as i've never checked it. I know BBC in general to be the best and most credible source for news -- but is this web-list equal to that reputation? I suppose i'll find out.

Ok, I find this interesting. ?Tell me what you guys think. ?When a band tours, they want to play as many weekend nights (Fri,Sat) as they can (especially GNR since they go on so late). ?If they don't, their just losing ticket sales. ?Now obviously you can't play on every Fri and Sat but you would like to try and work that out. ?

With that said, this is the first weekend of the entire tour that they don't play on a Friday or Saturday. ?Do you think that is on purpose for some reason to do with the album? ?I really have no idea, but it does seem odd that they don't have a weekend slot this week, when they could easily play Saturday in Everett. ?It's also odd to me because the last time I tried to post this, it got deleted by Jarmo. ?It may have not been in the right thread, but it's still gets me thinking. ?

Maybe they are preparing for something? ? beer

Well, the BBC seems to know something that Billboard doesn't then.

Actually, now that I think of it, Dec 23 would be a perfect slot for SNL. ?GNR would have to do a Cfristmas theme though. rofl

Well, they didn't say anything but coming soon. Just because GNR is listed with Nas doesn't mean they're coming out on the same day.

I really wouldn't read too much into the BBC thing.  While I know the BBC is well respected, there's no way they would know a set date before everyone else in the media.  It just doesn't make sense.  My guess is that they're speculating or picking up on some of the rumors.  In the age we live in, if this was an official set date, that kind of news wouldn't just be available to one media outlet.

Not yet they wouldn't.......

A possible scenario is that BBC with their reputation and experience have aquired so good contacts that they would know about something like this a tad in advance to other news outlets. If that's the case we better watch out for multiple listings tomorrow. But we'll see what the response from BBC is on this, and hope we get a comment from Merck about it.

Either way I think this event will lead to at least some added knowledge on our part.

In the fine print under the BBC , it says this ...

"The above listing contains a selection of the records released in forthcoming weeks. Not all releases are featured. The page was compiled to the best of our knowledge on 04 Dec 2006.

All details are subject to change. Please check artist and record company official websites for the latest details...."

my qeustion is this , where does the BBc get their info from , according to the best of their knowledge

Its something different and will be a big surprise

« Reply #6218 on: December 07, 2006, 11:19:18 PM »

I dont think this strays from the norm. There have been all kinds of sites along the years that have posted possible release dates. Some have been bogus, some have been real...but in the end we all know the result

I think its important to note that if the band isnt doing a surprise release then we will get a press release regarding a release date. We would not learn it from a site. No matter how legit the site is.

If the band is doing a "surprise" release then it would be highly unlikely any site would know about it.

Just my 2 cents
