I agree. No news this week= no cd this year. I can't wait to see how all the people that are so sure Axl wouldn't lie react. Of course, it won't be his fault. God forbid Axl be held accountable for anything. Who was it that went out telling people that it is definately this year? Oh yeah, Axl. Why would you do that without being 100% certain?

I'm hoping he keeps his word, but i really don't expect it. Universal reps know nothing about it, atleast that's what they claim. Merck's BS about "No one from Universal has spoken to anyone about the cd" is bullshit. Universal has hundreds of reps, you honestly think Merck knows who they all talk to and what they talk about? I know the program director for I97 here in central illinois and his rep told him they don't have a scheduled release date as of yet.

I want Chinese Democracy this year...I really do.  But when I think of how many shitty albums are released, all the time, even by artists who were once great or, at the very least, pretty entertaining, I realize how important it is to get a great album, rather than an incomplete album with a lot of potential.  Think about those last few mediocre Aerosmith releases, or all those unnecessary Poison albums, and the way eyes would roll when they'd say "This one's from the new album."  For what started in the 80s, we're genuinely excited by the prospect of another GNR album.  But, if this one doesn't do the job, the public interest will fall off big time.  I don't want that to happen to my favorite band.  If they release a great album in 2006, that would be ideal!  But I'd rather have that great album later than something less worthy of GNR sooner.

i used to think that i would be very upset if CD didn't release in 06.  now as the year draws to an end, i realize that i will just be slightly disappointed.  not that big of a deal... i am used to disappointment at this point in my life. lol

anyway, i think if GN'R management knows that CD will not be released in 06, then it would be the right and professional thing for them to announce it. i think most fans would appreciate hearing the straight story, rather than trying to figure out a multitude of rumors and mixed messages.

i am dying to hear CD,(and have been for SO many years) but i will be cool with a later release date, as long as we get the truth before the end of 06.

Probably a long shot, but anyone else have the thought that this might be released as 2 separate CDs (in the vein of UYI)? I mean, I've heard 32 songs being thrown about as the number of tracks they have ready ...

True ... but a double album could be the reason for the delay (if there is one which I hope like hell there's not) ... it would sure take a lot longer to prepare a double than just one ... Just a crazy random idea anyway ...

I still have my hopes not necessarily up, but there ... surely they would have said something had something changed ... A cliche I know ...
