So are they planning a early 2007 release?
Absolutely. And when early 2007 arrives, they will be planning a spring 2007 release, and when spring 2007 arrives, they will be planning a September release, and when September arrives they will be planning a November release and when November arrives they will be planning a early 2008 release, etc.......

Don't hold your breath...

this was posted on sludge in response to brett meiseners post. dont know if its true tho

Brett Meisner,

Is somewhat true this isn't over a copyright photo. This is over the cover, Axl told them what picture image to use they went a different direction. Axl is hot over this right now.

This is why this info wasn't supposed to be released yet. The problem is being worked on, but at this rate I don't think the album will be out this year. Only thing you might get out of the album this year is some promo commercials about it in December. This is going to help the Guns kick off there European tour next year. Maybe with some more dates added. An album with this kind of magnitude you have to do things right and that's what Axl is doing.

So are they planning a early 2007 release?

Meisner doesn't know anything. GnR said 06' and that's ?it till it's not

Well if we don't hear anything by this Friday which is Dec 1st.  I don't think 2006 will be the year.   Dec 19th would be a logical date.  But if they do not announce it by Friday there is no way we'll see it.  So to me 2006 is pretty much over.  Lost a 100$ on this.  Will I bet on GNR again?  Hell no!

Are you saying that without a statement you'll still hope till Dec 19th?  And I agree that they must explain why it was delayed yet again.  Because I think this will affect the tour greatly in 2007.  They'll probably see a huge decline in tickets sale without the album.

Well if we don't hear anything by this Friday which is Dec 1st.? I don't think 2006 will be the year.? ?Dec 19th would be a logical date.? I dont think this friday is necessarily the cutoff date for an announcement, but I think im just keeping hope until december 19.. as I said, I have reason to believe its done, but when the cd is out idk..

I dont think ticket sales will drop, most people are seeing this tour for the nostalgic purposes. the whole reason for the US tour was to regain trust in GNR.. one of the reasons they are playing smaller vnues than 2002 this tour is because after 2002 alot of people are weary to buy GNR tickets... I think this tour was to say "were back but you can trust well show up this time"

For the tour being in smaller venues I totally agree with you.  And on that end they gained my trust back.  That is not a problem.  Where Axl has lost my trust is concerning the album.  I am starting to wonder if  we were ever that close to a 2006 release to begin with.  I am wondering if he played us all along and there was never any plan to release it this year.  I think it is a valid question at this point.

in my opinion, they were on shoot for a 2006 release, but with adding frank and bbf on the album, they were cutting it close... I think everythings done, but the record company is scrambling to get everything together...

With an album that is 8 years in the making.  If the record company is still scrambling to get everything together.  There is a huge problem on the administration side don't you think?  *lol*

We will not get CD this year I think. It's the same as in 2002.

If its not coming out this year there won't be  a statement, because there never has been a statement on what is going on. Even after the cancelled tour in 2002 there was no statement.

Im have been very positive about a 2006 release....

But its begining to fade and right now I dont think it will be this year...

Why? The silence from Merck and Axl havent said anything about CD on this US-Tour...

Something was going on(Harley ad and Axls "statement " at the VMAs). And then suddenly all this silence.

Lets focus on early 2007 instead. ?confused

Well, technically we've heard nothing to say it'll be out in 2007 either. If there are any hold-ups (which we haven't heard confirmed/denied either), there's nothing to say how long they will stretch on for.

As always, we'll have to wait and see, and hope for the best.

That was the plan in '02 as well. That's the problem with this band, you never fuckin know. Why are people getting so paranoid on the boards when something slightly negative happens? Because they know this band is as stable as a nuclear weapon.
