The CD release date rumor / speculation thread

You have no proof to back that up.

 In fact, it is more likely someone who worked in the studio before the label closed shop lifted and leaked them to the public.

I'll always think it to be strange that the only songs leaked were the ones axl mentioned to rolling stone. 

My guess has been that either these really ARE axl's fav's and therefore thats why these songs were on the disc that was sent to piazza who in turn brought to eddie trunk or axl knew these songs "were out there" since eddie trunk had the disc so he just mentioned these as he felt they would become "known" soon enough.

It's just all too strange to think axl mentions the songs , then they leak .. now they play them in concert?! 

I just have to wonder .. do they really HAVE any more material finished and recorded to the point of these demo's? I guess Prostitute and If The World are done since they are options on the setlist.

GNR should stop acting all Area 51 like and just share some info with it's fanbase. Some secrets and hush hush behaviour does indeed add some mystery and whatnot but c'mon , to be THIS silent and secretive just is borderline paranoia and well IMHO a lil childish.

However the HMV did say that it MIGHT be coming out closer to Christmas time and to call back in a week to check.

Later (this evening) I went to pick up some tickets @ Sunrise Records (different location than I called earlier) and while I was there I asked about a release date for CD. The girl tried to look it up in the system (they use All Music Guide) but it was really slow so she was having a hard time getting in. She said that she knows that it Definitely will be out Before Christmas. Her co-worker was standing beside her and he said that it was supposed to be out sooner but it got pushed back but he also said that it will Definitely be out Before Christmas.

It's more likely there was some conspiracy going on? Come on. The songs were intentionally leaked because they planned to play them during the tour.

At this point I would just even likely to hear something "new" no matter how vague be it from Merck, Axl, GNR, Harley Davidson... whoever. Just give us a little taste!

I don't buy that the latest delay is to add Frank and Ron. If he could add new drums and guitar to the album and have it out 6 or 7 months later, then he should have been able to get the whole CD done much quicker too.

IF he actually is adding Frank and Ron, then I think we're looking at a much longer delay. Besides, if Brain is still a member of the band, why replace his parts on the CD?

I remember an 'insider' at the rope said several years ago that the label would push a GH to recoup money from the recording then if the album was still not fast tracked, it would cut off Axl from recording, and then begin leaking tracks. Thus far, all have come to fruition.

Second, it means Bucket's parts are gone, and as a Bucket fan, I'm disappointed, but as a GNR fan, I'm even more disappointed, because I think Bucket gave the band a unique sound. Third, if Frank is being added, to me it points to Brain being out of the band. I know what they've said about him taking time off, but why replace his already finished parts on the CD if he were still in the band?

I dont think he re-recorded buckets parts, just added bits..

like listen to the harley commercial.. that solo runnign parralell to the verse/corus is new

even if he did, it wouldnt take long, hes a great guitarist

On this you have to think about the songs and structures,and so forth, there may be tunes, that are there after buckets departure, and like  wise, who says to day, that they cant augment, and add more drum parts, different, rythms and patterns, to enhance what is already there. If these guys have been into the fold it at least to me seems more natural to have all members of GNR reflected on the album Thus far. If this is there comeback album, makes sense to me if new guys have been indoctrinated into the band, to at least have them represented in a studio format. But many people still think its only just hired guns. Axl  wanted to create something big , rolled with the punches and had set backs. But to say that this now is gonna make it more yrs of waiting is ludicrous, but them again I understand the vast majority rely on the status quo as to how things to be done, me I'm just memorized at how Axl and GNR are creating a monster that WILL be unleashed and probably will make other artists and labels to think more visionary!

Ron was brought into the band a week before the first Hammerstein show. He was not working with Guns N Roses before this time period.
