It didn't say it was any good reason, but it's not a lie either. Axl is in many ways a sick human being, and they tend to do things normal persons have a hard time comprehending.

Is there ANY situation where you won't try to blindly defend or justify his actions?

You know, he could just be trying to make some money, with little consideration to anybody....

I'm not saying he is trying to do this, but come on, do you really have to try to interpret his actions on some 'higher level' like "he is a sick human being". 'we don't understand him' blah blah blah.

Could it just be that he is lieing? (or "distorting the truth", which seems to be a lot more acceptable to you...)

How is my defence of the man blind when I present arguments? There's always multiple sides to every story, and I acknowledge that. You may see it as "higher level" interpretation, I see it as basic analysis.

Because saying that he is a "sick man" doesn't give reason for his actions. That's just branding him with a (vague and nondescript) illness and assuming that his actions are consequential of having this "sick man" illness.

I just think that there may be alternative motives for somebody who most see as a 'man for the fans'.
Money is a motivator... etc..

Not bashing you or anything, though.

Just a difference of opinion.

true, i agree with that. but the bottom line is, if there will be any success with the new band, and if axl wants us die hards to stick with them, he has to keep to his word right now. without us, axl is just "that asshole that broke up that band" to everybody else. we know different. we are the ones bringing people to shows, we are the ones spreading the word. Management sure as hell isn't doing it. right now,  axl needs to stick to his word, if not for us, then for his own reputation(or lack thereof). axl's reputation is not very good(biggest understatement ever), and right now, if he does not release the album this year, every news organization, every music channel, every music site, you name it, will be on axls ass for lying once again. if the album does not come out now between now and jan. 1st at 12:00 am, then we may as well wait till axl dies to hear anything. and i would be surprised if he had in is will, that everything goes into the fucking ground with him.

I just can't understand why anyone and everyone seems to want to get into these types of arguments and debates. Why don't we all just wait until January 01, 2007 and then debate, discuss and argue the situation if we don't have the record.

Because saying that he is a "sick man" doesn't give reason for his actions. That's just branding him with a (vague and nondescript) illness and assuming that his actions are consequential of having this "sick man" illness.

How is that not reason? It's not his fault that he's damaged, and by default the effects of that damage isn't his fault either. You can naturally argue if he's really sick or not, but I believe he is to some degree.

Yes, you should never say never. However, my impression of the guy from interviews and quotes is that he does not fit that descreption.

It seems that people are getting tired of waiting. And there are no signs it's going to be released this year...

i don't know about you guys, but the last thing i want to do is get into these discussions. i would much rather be listening to Chinese Democracy or at least waiting in line knowing exactly when it will hit the shelf., but thanks to shitty management that doesn't even acknowledge its (more than)loyal fan base,we are left totally in the dark, looking up hoping to see light, only to have shit dumped right onto us.

I'd say Axl saying it twice would be "signs".

Hardly. Whether or not he is serious about releasing it has nothing to do with him mentioning it "twice". His main goal was to at least put the notion out there whether or not he is truly serious because his main objective has been to sell as many concert tickets as possible and cash this sucker out, album or not. Getting your base to believe the album is really coming out is a great way to get them motivated and buying tickets, as well as trying to recruit others to do the same. This has been nothing but a big cash grab.

Do you think there would have been half the enthusiasm there was for this or the European tour if he had said point blank there is no album coming, absolutely not. Hence the need to make people think it is coming, even if that is the furthest thing from his true intentions.

Hmm, no he didnt, he merely stated a fact and we have construd it to mean that the CD is coming out this year, the biggest thing we can hope for is that Merck meant "hey there are X number of tuesday left, it might come out this year-theres 3 months to go!". We made out that it would definately be this year based on the fact that Merck can count, we started this whole merry go round and we are now pissed that we can't get off.

You have no clue what Axl's personal motives might be and again, until January 01, 2005 comes without Chinese Democracy you still have no basis to bitch.
