being a admin from a torrent site , it allows you to lock then delete the thread
im not sure what your talkin about?

welll first thing you do is lock a thread , so nobody else can reply , then you hit the edit option and delete the thread itself. MOst mods have buttons on a forum that the average person cannot access

in the cali thread case , the mod didnt have delte option just locking ability

So here we are, November 21st, the infamous. Threads are getting deleted left and right. Does it mean CD's coming out today? No, but something's going down right here and now, that's for sure.

The Dec 26th-January 10th time frame is looking better and better IMO. As someone pointed out there is a lapse in touring during that period which could be best served making appearences. It is also possible to minimally promote this record in December with a single and two week lead announdemnt. Dec 26th is a big shopping day: perhaps, consumers can exchange their Jay Z and Gwen albums for the far superior Chinese Democracy.

Hey, Nirvana's Nevermind took off after the Christmas exchanges people were supposedly making with Michael Jackson's Dangerous. Nirvana, however, sucks, and Michael Jackson will always be cool. Just pointing that out.

I dunno about that. A single early to mid December would tide over the masses.

Nov 28
Dec 5
Dec 12

The biggest contenders for release dates up to this point..
No shows on that day.. hmm..
but would it really make a difference? Unless it becomes a day of exclusive promo or press with the band or something..?
Agreed. If it is released this year, it will probably be on one of these three tuesdays. The other tuesdays (Dec 19th and 26th) seem unlikely.

Well.. it's looks really dark right now. I guess that we will have to wait on this album for a very long time. So many years have passed and we have been told so many times that this is the year. Axl have told us before the other members.. So I can't see why this year is different.

But I still have hope that it will come out.. and I hope it's soon ? peace

I was in the middle of a reply when it was deleted.  Roll Eyes My guess is they deleted it because they are trying to stop the growing negativity until the tour is over.
for some reason i just recalled mysteron's comment about how it won't just be a surprise release, that they will announce something..
considering a majority of the rest of that topic addressed this, do you think maybe thats why?
not necessarily because it means something, maybe just for the sake of not confirming and not denying any speculation?

Damn, I missed this! I, heh, wish I knew what he said...

And if deleting is a tactic to try and curb the growing negativity round here, then they are really out of touch. They're just throwing gas on the fire.

Yeah. This is getting vitun ridiculous.

There's a nice, exciting thread going on when you hit the sack at night, dreaming the whole night about checking it again in the morning, and in the morning there's no such thread in sight.

Was it all lies? There was no such ads on tv? If so, say so, lock the thread, but leave it for people to see.

Were they true but unauthorised or something? If so, say so, lock the thread and leave it for people to see.

I see a pattern here. GNR seem to think that people enjoy concerts better when they are dead tired and angry about the delay, and the same strategy is applied on the record, too. "We'll release it when the mob is angry enough. Hold on, let's just wait for the first Molotov cocktails to fly."
