The CD release date rumor / speculation thread

Merck's statement in Rolling Stone as well as Axl's continued "IT WILL BE OUT THIS YEAR" statement, I'm thinking its going to be a surprise.  Then GN'R will tour throughout 2007 adding a few songs to there setlist..(mostly wishful thinking).

Well, if Chinese Democracy doesn't get released we can take solace in having songs like TWAT and Better.  Sure we're probably missing out on some great songs and the ones we have are lower quality, but we have them.  In the end it's not us missing out, but the band since they'll never truly be able to capitalize on their material and no one else will know how good they really are (or can be).

For some strange reason, I believe we will get an announcement tomorrow since the "Better" commercial will hit the net/TV. The album is coming out this year and its suppose to be a SURPRISE!!! just listen to the John Norris interview with Axl and how his body language and the way he talks about Chinese Democracy. ?Before John Norris can say anything Axl says THIS YEAR !!! then ask if its out in a month or so and Axl basically says he can't tell you. ?Axl loves his fans and he has everyone right in his palm thinking that the album ain't coming out and then BANG CHINESE DEMOCRACY STARTS NOW !!!

No one knows - And I wouldn't be shocked if we get through the rest of 2006 without seeing the ad launch.

Ever since RS leaked their release date theory, things have gotten VERY fishy with the album. Back when the Hammerstein shows launched, I never in a million years thought we'd be nearing the end of November without a release date, album art, or even a tracklist.

But sure enough, here we are - 2002 all over again.

Is anyone convinced the album is even finished? I'm having serious doubts. I know people (ie Bach) have supposedly heard the album, but I doubt that was the finished mixed and mastered version.

Not to put a damper on this whole topic, but *if* the cd was coming out any time soon, everyone would know at least 2 weeks in advance of a street date because word would leak from whatever plant is pressing the discs. Not to mention it's highly probably someone would leak the album to the internet as well. Regardless of all the false alarms the past few years and the ever-diminishing interest among the more casual fans as well as the media, this is a newsworthy story and word would and will (if it ever truly is released) get out well before the album was on it's way to distributors which itself always is at least a 1 week lead time for a general release to stores.

I think one person's earlier mention from the UK of a previously unheard of band's massive cd shipment for a 11/20 & 11/21 release turned out to be the new U2 "Best Of" cd and dvd which is the basis for a lot of talk about this week being CD's street date. Frankly, I thionk if the album isn't out by next week, it ain't coming out at all in '06 and will likely be moved to February '07 at the earliest  *if* there's even a solid plan to release it at all.

I think if they had a release date (even if it was next year, but definite) they would have announced it, especially with all the rumours flying around. It makes no sense (I know this is GNR though) to keep it quiet when they are touring if they have a date when it will be released.

I'd say the album isn't done (for whatever reason), and they will do this tour and then disappear with no word while work is 'continued' on the album.

I think this a pretty crucial week for GnR. If we don't hear anything, I think we can rule out a 2006 release.

Let's just wait and see.
They haven't denied the album's not coming out in 2006 yet.
If they want to maintain any credibility and respect, they need to tell us if the album's not coming out in 2006. I'm sure ALOT of people would be more accepting knowing the album has been delayed (preferably with a reason or some sort of explanation) rather than leaving us hanging and December 31 passing without even a one word reply of 'no'.

Anyone else think that the 4 day gap between shows could mean anything? i mean we've heard the 21st mentioned alot recently.... There doesn't seem to be another gap this big except for christmas.

I, like everyone else, am hoping it comes out tomorrow but I am not betting on it. I agree that I think more info would have leaked out by now if it was coming. I guessing we'll be waiting again. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

or maybe because of customs.. bringing all those trucks and planes in and out of canada.. they have to search them all and check everyones papers...

prob nothing more than logistics... nothing to do with an album would be my guess.
