That would be the sweetest thing ever.  Then Axl could say that he had this planned out from the very beginning... Roll Eyes

18 March 2005, 4:32 PM:

Splat briefly spoke to Burhan Wazir today, the writer of the new Guns n'roses article in The Times (UK).
Burhan told us that he'd spoken to numerous people whilst compiling his article on Guns n'roses, an investigation which stretches back five years.

Burhan mentioned that he had spoken to Sanctuary who indicated that the new Guns n'roses album would definitely be out later in 2005, probably around September.

Burhan also informed that he managed to speak to the very elusive, Buckethead. Unfortunately, Buckethead said that he couldn't speak much about Guns n'roses because he was tied to confidentiality agreement. He did confirm though that he had left Guns n'roses, and that he wasn't sure if he would feature on the new album, Chinese Democracy

We will be speaking to Burhan again on Monday, so if you have any questions, please post them to the forum.

i don't think this summer is any different from any other of the past four summers.

And noone could ever force it out, if you knew anything you would know that by now.... if it could have been forced out it would have been out a long time ago.

Has any other album in history had 10 years of anticipation built up to it? I don't think so. Axl's constant delays is really the biggest marketing exercise ever employed by an artist. When Chinese Democracy does eventually get released, its gonna be bigger than ice-cream, sliced bread, Ben Hur and that guy who won American Idol 2 !!! (physically, that is) beer

The story

Bryan 'Brain' Mantia has told Splat that he is planning a set of drum clinics in Europe during September 2005. We will confirm the dates shortly.

Brain's plans effectively kill off any chance of seeing Guns n'roses or their new album 'Chinese Democracy' this Summer.

The tide started to turn recently when The Times (UK) told Splat that Sanctuary informed them that they were 'very keen' to see Chinese Democracy released in late 2005. Although, September time was indicated, this looks as though it would be the earliest time it could be released. A later release is more likely.

Merck Mercuriadis has stated though in a recent reply to the NY Times that 2005 will be the year for Guns n'roses.

The constant delays IS NOT a marketing scheme. I used to think the same thing many years ago but if it was a marketing scheme, he would have released it after the incredible buzz GNR had after the 2002 VMA's. The more likely scenario is that he doesn't have enough material for a full length album to release it. I used to joke that instead of getting CD, we would get an EP instead. But who knows? It's impossible to predict whats going on in Axl's world.

"the more likely scenario is..."

Stop making shit up and then wording it is tho it were fact.

Brian May said in an interview years ago that even back then Axl had enough material to do atleast two albums so your "more likely scenario" is utter pish.

The latest "rumor", printed in the major articles talking about IRS, is November.

Edit: Here's one of them...but there are a bunch more.

Note: This thread isn't for people to make up their own ideas about when it might be released.

If you see a news article mentioning a rumored release date, post it here.

If you think it's coming out next week, don't post that here.
