The CD release date rumor / speculation thread

Suffice to say, I'm a bit less optimistic after having read all that...sigh.  The part that got me the most:

My thoughts...

Due to Mercks statement about us hearing from GNR before the end of the year, I don't think we are getting the album.? If we WERE getting the album before the end of the year, he wouldn't have said anything.? He would have stuck by his and Axl's word - (Axl) "it will be out this year" and (Merck) "there are 13 tuesday's left from now till the end of the year".

What statement was this, did i miss this?

so do you guys think he will give the cd to the press before the release or do you think he will keep it away from them to prevent any negative reviews from coming out before the album? I say negative reviews because there are many media people just waiting to trash CD no matter what it sounds like.

Why is everyone getting so damn crazy about the album coming this year...? Because Merck implied it would...? Geez. Anyone who has been around the block enough times (with regards to GNR), like myself, knows to take everything he says with a bucketload of salt. If it comes this year, great, if not, roll on 2007.

Fact is; the album ain't coming until Axl deems it 100% done. Seriously guys, that could be 2008/09. And I'm not joking. So, put your feet up, listen to "Estranged" and chill the **** out.

I was chilling out and not expecting anything from gnr untill they anounced REPEATEDLY that the album was coming out in 2006. That got me all excited since I am a huge fan and I have been telling everyone it's coming and how great it will be. I had respected axl for refusing to say it was coming soon in the past because he was always honest about the fact that it wasn't coming soon, for the reason I believed him when he said it was coming out this year, so that' s why I and a whole bunch of us on here are waiting for it.

I hope so, but why would Merck issue a statement like that? ?

By Merck telling us that we will here from GNR before the end of the year, it tells me that plans have changed. ?I could be wrong, but that's the way I see it. ?If plans haven't changed, he wouldn't have to issue a statement saying that we will here from GNR before the end of the year. ?We already know this, if we believe!
