So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?

Latest I'm hearing is expect the announcement by March 28 - however, its more likely to come in by the end of this week.  (Friday would be my guess).  No idea as to what info will be in it, though.  My best guess is confirmation of tour dates and album release date.  Possibly single info as well - but that's just speculation.

Couple different people, actually.  Can't name them as I don't feel like getting people in trouble.. but one of them does get his info from the Geffen side of things.  I wouldn't read too much, if ANYTHING into it - like I said, its just what I'm hearing.

Hypothetically speaking, if CD was to drop on April 25th, the only competition release-wise would be Godsmacks new album.  Springsteen has an album coming out that day as well.  I don't see these two albums as being much competition.  Also, that magazine that supposedly got in touch with Merck about the April 25th rumor, and Merck responding with the line "interesting", has me raising an eyebrow.  Aprl 25th seems like such a good time for a release...
