Slash to be Inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk: Update Photos Available

you think it's just some honorary thing like they do, or do you think slash will actually be there for it? Because if he's gunna be there, I'm calling in sick to work and dustin off the ol' tophat.

He'll be there for it, I saw Iron Maiden do the same thing in summer 05' and it was pretty cool. Like someone said above durring the process the person being inducted in the end puts their hands in wet cement for it to be added to the "rock walk" at the entrance of guitar center.

i heard that there was almost a riot when iron maiden was inducted? i had to work that day so i didnt get to make it

      Haha yeah there was, well first off there was a ton of people there to begin with, which made the entrance of the guitar center (where maiden was going to do there thing) really hard to see for the majority of people there. Also the the enclosed section for people to stand to watch Iron Maiden was jam packed (some people in the front even had to leave since they were being crushed by the crowd). And to top it off the media showed up with their huge cameras and what not and blocked the view form anyone not in the very very fornt of the line. So when Maiden came out most of the people there, some who had been waiting 4+ hours, couldnt even get to see them durring their short 5- 10 minute induction. I guess this must have pissed the shit out of them and when the band left the crowd started shaking the gate to Guitar center, trying to bring it down. Along with that people started yelling and throwing small stuff. Eventually a bunch of cops came and broke up the crowd as well as arrest a couple of kids. I really don't think a full on "riot" would have broke out though.
     Don't let that disencourage you to go though, I really doubt that today Ronnie James Dio and Slash would attrack the same crowd and amount of poeple to the store that Iron Maiden did. Even though Slash is still well respected and popular, unless he was with the original line-up would the crowd surpass what Iron Maiden attracked.

VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash, new KORN drummer Terry Bozzio and legendary metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio were inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk in Los Angeles last night (Wednesday, January 17). The ceremony was held in front of the Guitar Center at 7425 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Check out pictures from Film Magic, Wire Image, Rex Features. The RockWalk is described as "the only sidewalk gallery dedicated to honoring those artists who have made a significant impact and lasting contribution to the growth and evolution rock 'n'roll, blues and R&B." Previous inductees include Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, AEROSMITH, VAN HALEN, Ozzy Osbourne, Johnny Cash, the RAMONES and more.
