this mean almost 10000 people per show
this is very good
Not in America. There is no way they played to 10K per night.
Several shows they did play 10k+, and in several of the bigger markets they sold out (Warfield, MSG).
But keep in mind, heavy-interest in music just isn't America anymore. Whereas my generation, it was all about the latest record, this generation it seems to be all about the new video game.
There's interest, but just not what it used to be, because socially things have changed. They can still play to stadiums in Europe & South America.

it is usually dominated by Celine Dion with her Las Vegas shows at over $250 per ticket.
::shoots self:: Good God how is that possible? Even fans of hers must go insane because she ahsn't had an album in years or a single... so for $250 what the hell does she sing? That's the only thing worse than what the stones were charging.
Anyway i have to agree that the market has changed, not much stadium going on, the last i can think of was Bruce Springsteen in 03 at Giant's Stadium and Shea. The market has gone down and now people play clubs and arenas, which is WAY better, much more intimate and enjoyable.

Oh yeah Im not doubting their international appeal. But America is a tough market for them to break again. They could still do it with a album and some promotion and maybe a known band on the same bill.

Remember shows like LA, Vegas and San Fran will bring down the average, even if they sell out... If i'm not mistaken wasnt Vermont a smaller venue?? So 8000 is a little misleading to anyone thinking all they've played was 20k seaters...

hey bucket!! how are ya? at least now i know you aren't dead!
it's amazing someone can charge that for a ticket and do the same old tired songs. maybe she adds covers of classics or something. but it's a vegas show too, and that adds to the ticket price.
i agree smaller venues are better. i went to msg and hammerstein last year.....and even though the band, axl, the entire show performance wise was better at msg, to me, hammerstein was a better show because it was small, we were up close, and just the atmosphere. it seemed to be like 90% hardcore fans, where as msg had more casual fans. i personally don't like stadium shows. they are too big and you can't see.
