500-600 for a phone?  sheesh, I don't know!  Thats a lot.

But this benefits us, the consumer in two ways:

1).  Great new technology - for those who want to pay and can afford it, this looks to be AMAZING

2).  Competition, if the other guys can't offer iPhones they are going to have to slash their rates and phone prices.  Why pay 400 for a trio if i can spend $100 more for an iphone?!?!?!

As a die hard mac user, it goes without saying that I want one.   Unfortuantely, there's no Cingular service where I live, and they are the exclusive plan providers for these phones....sigh.

Remember how mobile phones used to be? In the mid-90s when "normal" people started using them.

You used them to call and send text messages.


Today the phones are so much more. They're cameras, Internet browsers, music players, video recorders, personal planners, GPS etc...


Seeing that the mobile market is where the money is, it's no surprise Apple wants their piece of that huge cake.

It does look killer, but don't know if I'd drop the money for that. It's cool and everything ,but I always look at stuff like that and think "Does it really serve a purpose to me? Do I really need it?" The answer is always "no". As I'm a decade behind on everything.

Which is why Jobs changed the company from Apple Computers to Apple Inc. - they've moved into the full-blown entertainment industry now. ?Since they've been setting the pace for the past 4-5 years, that should surprise very few...

I used to watch ITV all the time. They carried Oilers games......I think ITV became something, then became Global, oh, I think it went from ITV to Prime to Global.....I could be incorrect, though...ITV used to exist.
