Cameroon star Foe collapses and dies
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/3024360.stm
A very sad day for football indeed!
very sad. A heart attack at 28. I can't belive the next match was even played.
Very sad... great player with a great life ahead of him.

If Kluivert is leaving Barcalona because he couldn't deal with a pay cut, then I don't want him. Plus, I doubt we could even afford him anyway.

Well aren`t they saying they can halve his wages, i would be pissed off... but seems your right, Arsenal don`t have loads of money at the moment, but i can`t see you letting him go to United! Also how can you afford Kewell`s wages, didn`t Leeds offer him ?2.5m per year - 50k a week!?

I think the reason we're in this mess money-wise is that we spend too much on our player's salaries. We just can't afford it!
I would love to know where the money we got for Anelka has gone.

From what i gather, they are spending shit loads on this new stadium - upwards of ?100m or something stupid! Anelka money - well Henry ?11+ that was half of it... and i think Real were paying it off bit by bit, if you remember they didn`t make payments for a bit a fifa got involve. I think they must have taken what would normally be part of Wengers budget and but it into the stadium pot. Its strange for a club such as Arsenal to be getting into such trouble? Perhaps doing a Chelsea?

Well the plan is that, if we get past this tricky stage, we'll make ourselves one heck of a lot richer later on. Financially, we can't compete with the best teams with a stadium as small as Highbury (as much as I love the place).
I'm fine with us being careful with money, if it's an investment we're making. We don't need
that
much improvement anyway. This is still pretty much the same team that cruised to the double two seasons ago, just minus Seaman and Adams.
I dunno if buying both Kewell and Kluivert is that great an idea. Surely
some
of the ?10m we've got to spend has got to go towards a keeper and a defender!
I would much rather see Kewell play for us (and i'm guessing he won't be asking for ?4m a year either), but if we don't get Kluivert, Man Utd will...
It's a toughie.

I agree, will be fantastic when you`ve got a nice new stad, my only concern for you is that Moan Utd will be getting even better - facing facts, getting rid of Beckham and perhaps having a bit of a shake up will only make them more powerful... Ronaldinho will kick some arse.
Are you concerned with all these teams looking at your top players... Vieria (don`t think will go) Freddie L.berg and Pires they would be a big lose but are Arsenal in a position to turn down big money.. i`m not so sure!
I think that they should look to sell a few of the bit part players - Edu looks to be on his way, make a bit of money then try and get Kluivert (?1.2m is nothing) despite high wages i think the pros out way the cons.
If United get him, i think you will kiss good buy to the title

I agree. And yes, I am worried.
Pires was hopeless last season, but I want to keep him. Freddie is handy because we puts pressure on Wiltord.
I think that, if we manage to buy Kewell and/or Kluivert, the time is definately now to sell either Kanu or Wiltord (or, preferable, both). Not selling Kanu back when he was worth a few bob was very foolish, and I think Wiltord has reached the end of the Arsenal line (though he, annoyingly, wants to stay).
I'd also love it if we could keep Pennant. If Wiltord is gonna stay, then we need to put as much pressure on him as possible.
I find it very conventient that Jeffers is taking about going back to Everton
just
as we're on the verge of buying two class strikers. Not that I think we'll get either of them, but y'know. Whatever, Jeffers sucks and dives.

Just who the hell do PSG think they are?
30 million my fat avril loving arse.
Real Will now get ronaldinho.
Unless Man Utd buy some serious quality then we will not be retaining that title next year.
What does everyone think about the new Chelski then?
I think you have all the money in the world but Nesta will not leave Milan.
They need to get a few big players quickly, if that happens then Chelski could be the new british power

the new chelsea, haha yeah. one russian mafia guy buys the club and all of a sudden they are bidding for everyone and their mother. wonder how much in put ranieri has had on these apparent bids! he has already said that if this new guy starts interfereing he is gonna walk away which suggests to me that something has already happened that has upset him. money is everything in football but it helps if you directors have a clue how to run a football club, running around putting bids in for every player available is not really the correct way. but if some billionaire wants to invest in newcastle then go right ahead

The Chelsea thing pisses the fuck out of me. What have they done to deserve all this money while we, a team who has won the double twice in four years, have nothing?!
It's not fair. Now Chelsea will be huge, and all they'll have done to earn it is underachieve consistently.
Also, I can't believe Bergkamp (or, rather, his agent) is moaning about money. Can't he see that we're broke?? There are thousands of people out there who would gladly do his job for free, so instead of causing more problems he should just shut up and do something to earn this money.

I completly agree.
I fucking hate Chelsea.
Even more than Arsenal.
If Arsenal wern't a London side, maybe I wouldn't detest them so much
But I would fucking hate Chelsea even if they were from Scotland.
I just hate the fact that "just to start with" they had what, 180 million for transfers?
That is a fucking joke.
Why can't some billionaire buy control of Spurs from Daniel fucking Levy
Although, seeing as this is my fantasy, let's just say that this billionaire isn't Russian
Let's say he's...Irish. Everybody likes the Irish.
Apart from Misfit, he sucks.
I don't have problems with a club being wealthy and then using their wealth to build on their success, like Manchester United have, as long as they have made their wealth from continued success and progression.
But when a club goes from (in my opinion) barely UEFA cup quality to supposadly contending for the number one club team because of the ammount of money the chairman has, that fucking pisses me off.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saying that, if Spurs were offered a billion, I don't think I'd say no...
Also, I hope that Arsenal manage to solve their current money problems, so to say.
Because Spurs seem to have money problems as well...
And the talk of the two sharing a stadium scares me...

Agreed a little selfish..... But i still belive that Bergkamp was a major signing for arsenal and is being treated a bit like a spare part.
I think he was the start of the Arsenal revival that has occured in the last 4 or 5 years

Oh yeah, I love Dennis and there's no doubt that he's done a lot for us. It's just, y'see, we've done a lot for him too. He's always been payed loads, and he's been treated very well. Now, we did not win the title (partially, and I mean partially, due to him) so he's gonna have to take a pay cut until we can get back on our feet again.
It's called
loyalty.

A 66% pay cut is Loyalty.... hmmm i think thats a little harsh. He said he would take a 33% cut but thats not enough.
However hes being a cock by not turning up for training IMO.
Kewell is a liverpool player.... So Houllier finally woke up and got himself a winger.
Today Chelski Bid for:
Johnson
Bridge
Vieri
Duff - TWICE!!!!
Nesta.
This guy is hilarious

I`m excited from a neutral point of view, will certainly mix things up a bit! It seems that the more realistic transfer targets are becoming apparent, Johnsen, Geremi, Duff all will do well for Chelski.
Even though they have bottomless pockets, i don`t believe in buying success, Moan Utd and Arsenal will still hold the upper hand at least until the side becomes settled! Which looking at their recent history isn`t a word they really understand!
Chelsea have a friendly against us at Selhurst in the summer, will definelty go and see our collective arses being whipped! If not just to watch in awe

I'm still fucking hating Chelsea
