I don't think Rooney has big problems.  Sure he's an aggressive player and he looks scary but really he's not that out of control - most of the time he just gets his head down and works hard.  Ian Wright had much bigger attitude problems and they never slowed him down, because fundementally he had the wright attitude. ian wright is a bellend.

and the fact that rooney can be wound up will mean opponents will play on that. The fact that he is the golden boy means he has to be whiter than white.

In real football news we got it right up the celtic today. 2-1 after neil lennon set-up our winner. So glad the snidey wee ginger shitebag fucked up to hand us the winner. AND yet again we had a perfectly good goal chopped off by a cheating linesman. The Old Firm get handed results on a plate week in week out; finally someone is challenging.

It makes me laugh when I read about Sir Alex and how he feels that Gazza's career would have been so much better if he had joined Man Utd, and yet thus far he appears to have had absolutely no influence on the destructive aspects of Rooney's character.

how do you know he wouldnt have been 10 times worse if he hadnt joined UTD?? when you look at it, all rooneys bad incidents have happened playing for england (against spain, and portugal and even northern ireland) not utd, he clapped at a ref hardly violent conduct just frustration, and his red card against porto was a disgrace, he should not have been sent off

No, Rooney should not have been sent off the other night, but things like that happen. Robin Van Persie got sent off against FC Thun last season when he should not have been. Like Rooney's challenge the other night it involved two players going for a ball in the air. Both players were looking at the ball, not the opponent, but one clattered the other and the person still standing ended up with the red card.

However, look at Rooney's disciplinary record for Everton and Man Utd. He picks up a shed load of bookings. 10 years ago Man Utd could do without one of their attacking players for a few games whilst they were suspended because they had so many other options. Looking at the current Man Utd squad, I don't think they can afford to lose Rooney for 3-6 games a season through suspension. Do you really think Saha and Rossi are good enough to fill the void?

^ 27 yellow cards and 1 red card in 119 Premiership matches.

Thierry Henry has had 19 yellow cards and 0 red cards in his last 171 Premiership matches.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy had 16 yellow cards and 0 red cards in 150 Premiership matches.

I picked those two as they play a similar position and are at the level that Rooney has to reach consistently if he is to fulfil his potential.

i asked you to show me his man utd record  ok

and here it is form http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=21046&cc=5739

premiership: 15 yellows, no reds in 58 appearances, and for the record for everton he recieved 16 yellows and 1 red in 30 premiership appearances

his record for everton was a lot worse than it was for UTD even tho he played almost twice as many games for games for UTD, indicating to me that hes getting sorted out  ok

meh, the man utd stats are misleading as the big clubs get away with far more. average numbers of fouls required to pick up a booking for the big teams is usually shocking.

obviously scotland is a different kette of fish, but celtic average something like 19 fouls before a booking whereas other teams are closer to 8. i'd say the change from everton to manutd has done very little in reality.

lies, damn lies and statistics.

Indeed - at home Man Utd can always rely on the refs support - and people condemn the Italian leagues corruption, the Premiership makes Enron's management look like saints!

if you can find anything anywhere that even remotely says anything in anyway whatsoever like i've said that then i will fly over to ireland and perform fellatio on you.

you are talking about one specific incident in a meaningless preseason friendly. i'm talking about years of decisions in competive matches. please dont try and argue that man utd are hard done by.

Is Reyes in Arsenal's line-up tonight ?

In Spain they are saying that he won't because he's heading for Real Madrid.

No, he is not. He is on the bench. I just hope if we sell him we don't get Le Sulk II. AKA Scarface. AKA Franck Ribery. I've found out a lot about him over the last few days, since he said he is leaving Marseille. He seems like a stroppy twat who throws a thrombie if he doesn't get his way. Sounds like he is related to Anelka and Cashley Cole. And I think I was one of the few people who didn't think he was that good in the World Cup. Undecided

The line up tonight is:-

Almunia, Eboue, Hoyte, Toure, Djourou, Hleb, Fabregas, Gilberto, Rosicky, van Persie and Adebayor.

I'd rather see Matty Flamini at left back, but we still have a pretty strong line up, including 8 players who were at the World Cup. Cheesy
