A knife, a fucking knife.
A bottle, yeah, that's bad.
A coin is crossing the line.
But a fucking knife.
That really fucking pisses me off.
In adition, Doherty (Tottenham boy) scored a good goal and the England match was shit
My thoughts go out to Robbie Keane, as his father died mid-week

Are we talking stuff thrown onto the pitch?
Henry had a coin hit him in the first Chelsea game, then a lighter in the second. Some "fans" really need to get a puppy or something.

Yeah.
In The [Republic of] Ireland match, Kilbane had a knife thrown at him.
It didn't reach back page of the tabloids...I thought it would. Because a knife is fucking ridiculous.
If that had have happened in England it would have been all over the place...
Maybe because Ireland played away.

Hi guys, just noticed the footy thread and got interested as I'm obsessed with the game.
I'm a liverpool fan and I'm hoping someone can tell me what's wrong with emile heskey (everyone has something to say about that)
More seriously - I can't believe the things being thrown at players. A fucking pen knife! Thing is - what can be done about it (as if there isn't enough police at games already)

Welcome. We sure can need more Pool fans here. Those United and Arsenal -and that forest boy- bastards are all over the place
Well, Emile hasn't scored much, but in my opinion he contributes with other important things instead. He's a great target player (if not the best), and not many defenders can beat him in the air.
His finishing isn't clinical, he sure has missed a lot of chances this season, but I don't wanna rule him out just yet. And we can't forget that he has set up many of our goals this season.
But of course, being an attacker means that you should score goals, so he better start doing that too, otherwise we'll soon see Baros take his place.

I personally think emile's great, he works really hard but becaus he doesn't score many he gets some stick. I just don't understand why a lot of the time when he gets the ball up front, he doesn't power forward like I know he can (he's unstoppable then), he stops and ends up playin it backwards. It's like he doesn't have confidence.
I didn't realise there was so many man u and arsenal fans here - this is turning out to be a somewhat unsavoury place. [hihi]

Good performance.
Fucking great win.
Shakey at times...but all round we played well.
Very good win.
Bridge didn't have a great first half, but played fucking great in the second.
Very pleased with the result, great penalty from Beckham.

Hey it says gunner NOT goooner
About the England match - How in Gods name did emre (sp?) not get booked? - Fouls, throwing the ball away, etc. Also I thought it was so funny that after Beckham scored he was getting stick off a Turkish player, and he was givin it back but then he stopped, smiled, and started blowing kisses at him. The cameras caught it perfectly [hihi]
Also, I know I'm a liverpool fan but Jesus Christ Rooney was brilliant. We've had many young players made out to be the next best thing but I think this time we've really found a true talent. How can he be that good and only 17? Well played Wayne Rooney

Yeah, I thought that Beckham thing was great.
Turkey were being really bad losers.
They got pissed off because they were 1-0 down, and had been confident going into the match.
You could lip read Beckham saying "fuck you you fucking twat" and then his expression changed when it occured to him they were winning and he just started smiling and kissing in his direction.
Very funny.
Rubbing salt in the wound, but Turkey
definatly
deserved it, their outfield players had been stroppy all night long.
And, was it a penalty?
Yes.
Dyer was falling...but he hadn't fallen. He could've easily balanced himself. He was pushed to the floor.
And, for those who say it wasn't a penalty, there were two
clear
hand balls that were definatly penalty worthy that denied us a goal.
So, it was all fair at the end of the day.
I just thought I would say this about Calamity's apparant world class save:
It was a good save, I will give him that...but do you know why I won't give him any credit for it?
Because he should have fucking been on his line in the first place. He came out too early,
again
.
Is he thinking that if he immitates Seaman then he can win his place?!
James was far too eager to come off his line yesterday, and if he play's many more internationals, then at some point it will cost us.

And, who got automatic qualification

Amen about the James thing. I just can't believe we play that guy, when we've got so many other great keepers (Robinson? Martyn? That Liverpool guy, if he's not still injured?) and we've still ended up with someone as unreliable as him!
But other than that, England were great. Suprisingly great. I didn't think it was a penalty, but we should have had one beforehand, so fair play.
Owen is a hilariously bad diver.
