Romanian news are saying that Manchester United have made a 9 euro bid for Steaua's Mirel Radoi. He is a Steven Gerrard-type player, and would fit in perfectly in Keane's place

for 9 euros he sounds like a bargain.

I think Man Utd have been linked with nearly every half-decent central midfielder in the world in the last couple of weeks: Petit, Mascherano, Zokora, Carrick, etc. Undecided

No fan of other team will ever understand why Roy Keane was so valued...so why bother explain?

He was always a thug and always an average player - but the media love to raise people up for their own purposes - just look at Ronney, is he really that good - nope - and just look at the way they praise/comdemn Peter Crap-ouch - how can he be both the best and worst striker we have confused

Yes, Crouch is awful, but Rooney actually is that good. The fuss made over him was ridiculous, and served to highlight that our team is not as great as we think it is, but regardless, Rooney is far and away one of the best talents in the world.

potentially rooney is one of the best players on earth. crouch is a diddy and that's being kind - he had to foul one of the worst centre halves i've ever seen to score. seriously Brent Sancho was well below SPL standard.

Having watched argentina provide a masterclass in football today i can safely say that individually, on paper, england are a better team than argentina. Sven, however, is tactically inept and is a gigantic shitebag when it comes to big games. If england don't win the world cup (not the biggest IF in the world) it'll be sven's fault.

England - better than Argentina? Steady there...

England's squad is fantastic though - with a good manager we'd be virtually assured the semi's.

As for Rooney - he's good, but hardly sublime - plus he's a hideous human being in every sense of the word. I think things like sportsmanship count towards a players overal 'rating' - and this drags Rooney well down

Hmm. Any of his less appealing character traits can surely be attributed to his upbringing, and as for dragging the game down he is nowhere near Lee Bowyer standard. I think the lad's just a bit rough... He doesn't dive or get sent off regularly.

I was reading Jimmy Greaves in the paper today, and he knows what he's on about. He had the perfect solution to the problem of whether to drop Crouch or Owen: both of them! I don't want to see either of them on the fucking pitch right now. Rooney up front with Lampard and Gerrard bombing forward with Carrick in a holding?  drool  Imagine the options in midfield. If you want to see England anything like Argentina were yesterday at least..... Jimmy was right, Owen is clearly not on top of his game right now, and all the time that Crouch is playing it just encourages long ball bollocks!

Argentina's performance yesterday has completely assured me that I picked the right team to follow in the world cup. They were absolutely amazing and it was great to see Messi back and fully fit and linking up with Tevez again, those two were made for each other. World Class.

Oops! I meant 9 million Grin...now Steaua's owner claims that Radoi will surely go to a top English club, for 11 million euros...

Horrah - Liverpool continue a fine tradition of signing rubbish strikers with the inevitable signing of Craig Bellamy - imagine a strike force of Cisse, Crouch and Belamy - hot damn -  maybe a midfielder wont be our top scorer this season  confused

Bellamy is well below the required standard, though he would have been a damn fine 100 meter sprinter

Why cant we just sign ONE decent striker - Meyer, Camara, Heskey, Coruch, Morientes, Cisse....the list goes on - does the club really have such limited finances Craig Bellamy is all we can afford?

Ciss? won't play with us again. On loan to Marseille, who (probably) will buy him after the loan deal expires.

And I really think Bellamy could be a hit. He's got what we're desperately missing...real pace. With Gonzales and Bellamy it would look much better. And Rafa is the one to control his bad attitude. I'd say, give Craig a chance Smiley

Juventus, Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina have been charged with sporting fraud as part of the Calciopoli scandal.

These are the clubs referred to the Disciplinary Commission at the end of a wide-reaching investigation into alleged match-fixing and collusion with referees.

While Juventus were the side at the centre of the inquest following wiretaps on former director general Luciano Moggi?s telephone conversations, and the Turin giants are expected to run the biggest risks.

They could face anything from docked points to stripped titles and demotion into Serie B or even Serie C.

Milan insisted they were the victims of sporting fraud rather than the perpetrators, but they too have been charged.

Lazio and Fiorentina are thought to have had secondary roles, yet risk demotion if their involvement in sporting fraud is proved.

The trial will begin on June 28 and an appeal will be heard between July 7 and 9. The final appeal, at the Federal Court, will give its verdict before July 20.

Should be interesting to see what punishments are actually handed out.

The closest that we've been to linging anybody up in the past few weeks is that we're losing Carrick.................. (Our board has been very hushy hush, but I'm assuming that we've got some other rubbish lined up, and we're just trying to get them to sign before actually letting Carrick go. It's probably Hargreaves..............................)

One thing that does make me go Grin though is that Lennon is contracted to 2010. So even if [when] he does go, we're guaranteed decent money for him!
