I dont want Kewel or Defoe anywhere near Liverpool - Defoe is well below the standards of the top half of the table and Kewel manages one game in every 30 through injury...
Which is a shame, because they both have huge potential. I would be interested in Kewell comming to Spurs though, because we have enough cover for when he's out (... which is two third of the time) and I do rate him.
Of all the sicknotes over the years, people like Darren Anderton (ahem...) were never going to be world beaters. I always felt gutted for Jamie Redknapp though, he could have had such an incredible career. One of my favourite players from a less than glistening era for us, and a worthy captain.

Hail Rebrov mark 2!
Every year a 'decent' player is ruined by Spurs, every...single....year....this year it will be Berbatov
What the hell are you on about?
......... Rebrov was never a decent player.?
Kewell hasn't played well since the 99/00 season at leeds, after that he played on reputation and never delivered when it was needed, if ever there was a player in it for the money! Like you said bags of potential but I don't think people will see it anytime soon.
As for Rebrov he arrived at spurs with whispers of him being the next Schevchenko, probably because they are both Ukranian but he was tipped to be something special, shame it appeared to be total lies.

Watford eh? Straight up stright down
As ever 2 promoted teams will be relegated, the remianing one will do well and an established premiership team will be relegated - strange how predicatable these things become...

I hope to god you're not labelling Birmingham an established Premiership team.
Or the great escapists (... for one season), either.
Though you're right, Watford wil go straight back down. At least Leeds weren't promoted though, because had they been they could have stood a chance of beating Sunderland's brand new lowest points record......

Wigan and West Ham both finished in the top half of the Premiership and reached a cup final each last season.

Indeed.? This exception
dis
proves your rule, as it were.
I heard a couple of fun transfer rumours today.? Arsenal are apparently lining up a 7mil offer for Rosicky, and are also considering buying Andy Johnson.? Also, Chelsea may offer a swap deal with Sean Wright Phillips and Ashley Cole.? I'd be thrilled if it's true, but I can't really see that happening.
Congrats to Watford, although I do think they'll be heading straight down next year.

You're after Andy Johnson? That's fantastic news!, maybe it means that we can avoid signing him...
The Sean Wright Phillips for Ashley Cole thing would be a good thing for you, but only as compensation, seeing that it's inevitable that Cole will be leaving. While they play in different positions, regardless of who you signed out of the deal, Cole is on the next level down from Henry of unreplacables. I think that he's a fantastic full back, and the best player at surging forward while keeping on top of his defensive responsibilites, certainly that I've seen.

Don't think we would have been that bad next year! Watford might beat it though.
Credit to Watford they deserved it, they finished 3rd in the league and they were much better than us yesterday. Leeds were poor.
Having said that, we had a blatant penalty tuned down (well, technically there were 2 in about 15 seconds) when their keeper pushed Butler in the back and then hugged Rob Hulse to stop him gettin to the ball. And their 2nd goal was our throw in not theirs so you never know what would have happened if the right decisions had been made.
We had a couple of chances though, that deflected shot from Derry in the first 10 minutes would have gone in, and if it had who knows...
Aswell as our 10 minute period of pressure in the 2nd half when we were 2-0 down, we had a couple cleared off the line and a couple of really close efforts, again, if they'd have gone our way who knows...
Credit to Watford like they were the better team!

For those people who took delight in seeing the greatest London club ever lose to the team that is currently the best club side in world football last week:-

Enjoy.
Rosicky is in London discussing personal terms. Next season we won't give you the chance to take it to the wire to finish above us.

Mate, with Rosicky (almost) on board our midfield is gonna be killer next season.? I think our defence is already very strong, with or without Ashley Cole, so the only other thing we could use is a new striker to partner Henry.? I wouldn't say no to Andy Johnson.? I think Palace turned down 8mil for him earlier today so I dunno how much they'd expect Arsenal to pay, but I reakon he could be just the player we need.
And of course i'd also love Sean Wright Phillips to sign up as well.? He's already family - he just needs to say the word and we'll take him.

Rosicky is signed, sealed and delivered for ?6.8 million.
Ashley Cole has announced today he wants to stay, no doubt influenced by Henry signing his new contract.
Tonight's London Evening Standard believe that Wenger's next target is an Englishman. Michael Owen. He has a get-out clause from Newcastle in the region of ?12 million.
I'd rather Wenger paid that for an established, quality player as opposed to the ?10 million Palace are holding out for for Andy Johnson.

Michael Owen's get-out clause is less than they paid for him?

Sounds crazy, but there again some of the transfer decisions sanctioned by the Newcastle board haven't been the best.
Time will tell, no doubt.

He might get better. He was feeling homesick all of last season and it does take some players a long time to adapt to English football. Reyes took ages, but surely things can only get better from here. I mean, he was so bad last season he surely can't get any worse...can he??
I've been watching clips of Rosicky on youtube. He scored a wonderful goal against Arsenal in the Champions League one time, i'd forgotten about that. He's suprisingly fast - could be a real force next year I reakon.
