Liverpool killed Newcastle today, they were by far the better team. It's nice that Owen got to see first hand how much his old team have improved since he left.
Quote
How so? Have they cheated?
No, Chelsea haven't cheated, but they were an average team until Abramovich came along and then suddenly they're the the richest club in the world. ?They spent literally hundreds of millions on players while other clubs (like Arsenal) were spending less; they sacked their manager and grabbed the brightest young manager in Europe and sure, now they can win every game they play. ?Well done to them, they must be so proud of themselves. ?Had Abramovich's money been given to some other team I imagine exactly the same thing would have happened and, probably, Mourinho would've gone there instead. ?Chelsea haven't cheated, but the club hasn't earned shit, it's just been handed to them.
Quote
If you are referring to the money they have spent then Arsenal ''cheat'' every year with the millions they spend
That's ridiculous, Arsenal don't spend anywhere near as much as Chelsea, or Man Utd for that matter. ?Man, most pre-seasons i'll be sitting around waiting for new signings and they'll never come, and i'll watch teams like Spurs and Liverpool snap up players that could've been great at Highbury. ?Also, I never used the word "cheat" so I dunno why you quoted me on that.
Quote
can anyone really complain when they know deep down if some rich Russian took over their team they would welcome it?
I'd be furious if we got taken over. ?I know Wenger wanted it to happen for a while but i'm bloody glad it didn't, because it would have totally been selling out. ?It doesn't matter how many titles Chelsea win; Arsenal (and Utd, and Liverpool and...everyone else) will always have the moral high ground on them. ?Also, what if other teams do start doing the same as Chelsea? ?That'd be truely horrible for the game - there's too much money in football as it is without a bunch of bored billionaires shoving more and more into it.
I know this debate is getting a bit old so i'll be happy to leave it at this if y'all are bored of it.

Villa won a game!!! The fact that Villa, a team with awful movement and passing managed to put 4 past Everton really told the story. Everton were awful. Villa had so much time on the ball, and the urgency of the defence was terrible.

if your players dont make it as footballers they've got a good career in juggling ahead of them.

Everton...well, top of the table, bottom of the table - not since Blackburn have we had a team that has no idea whether it wants to win the league or leave it

Liverpool are on fire! Only Chelsea can rival them for the most inform team on earth, winning games, scoring lots of goals and conceeding few, great stuff - second place is ours!
Whatever happened to Everton...its no fun beating someone who never even had a chance of winning

The second most in form team on Earth?? Jesus !! You know, ther are other good teams outside the Premier League...ever heard of Juventus? or Barcelona, or Bayern Munich? You're the second most in form team in England, but only because of Man United's huge lack of concentration

Do u know what ''inform'' means?
They have won 8 straight league games - are Juventus and Barcelona in the middle of a streak of 8 successive league wins? Form wise only Chelsea rival them
Wakey wakey

Well Barcelona has a 10 game winning streak in the league, including a trip to the Bernabeu and 13 in all competitions...

I'd like second place to be Liverpool's if Arsenal don't get it, but there's a whole lotta season left for things to change. Man Utd are playing well at the moment, but I reakon they've got at least one more bad spell in them so there's room for a comeback if Arsenal hit form. The battle for Champions League places is looking nice and interesting at the moment - hehe, even Spurs think they have a chance.
Chelsea are taking the piss now, buying Maniche. Will they ever have enough players??

Its a shame Chelsea are doing so well - because the league is very intresting at the moment, who is going down is far too close to call, as it should be, and the battle for second place is sure to go down to the final day, add to that 4th place seems in reach of a few clubs too
The league is changing so the most intresting result is who gets 2nd
Just gets tedious if one or two teams dominate, a situation in which any one of maybe 4-5 teams could realistically win the league would be really quite something....

Well, not if we lose 2-0 to a team like West Brom again...
Apparantly Ledley King is going to be out for up to 3 weeks. Absoloutly awful news. West Brom was only our third defeat of the season...But if we lose Ledley for any longer than 3 weeks, then I could see a few more comming up...
I guess that Naybet must still be recovering from injury; why Dawson and Gardener were played together is beyond me...And kind of illustrates why we lost 2-0...
...Oh, and Rasiak was up front...

Another win for Liverpool, setting the scene for a spectacular loss of form and relegation in 2006!
The lads are doing well!

A nice win for us.
Clean sheet, two goals.
No complaints here...
But. Three disallowed?!
Apparantly they were all legit though...

This is a really big game tonight. Really, Arsenal
have
to win if we wanna challenge for second place - psychologically it'll be all over for us if we lose.
I'm really worried.

Certainly is a crucial game - should be a good game too, and most likely plenty of red cards and fights too

I wouldn't bet on it.
With Keane and Vierra gone, it will most likely just be handbags.
Reyes and Ronaldo?
Shit...
It's started.

Yeah, what a waste of time. 90 minutes of watching Arsenal pass it around in front of Man Utd's defence.

PL today isn't quite what it used to be. Today the PL is split into two divisions, one with one team and the other with 19 teams.
Yesterday we all were shown again that neither Man U or Gunners is what they used to be. Even "fancy playing" Liverpool is better for the moment.
So, how do you all think 06/07 season will be like?
