United 3-1 Charlton. Pretty entertaining game, and what about Rooney's run to set up Van Nistelrooy's first goal?! Absolute genius!
Yep Rooney looked brilliant. Hope they can continue to improve for the sake of challenging Chelsea. Didn't catch their European game so not sure what happened there.
Hopefully Villa can get a record 2nd win a row this weekend
And RIP George Best

What did you guys think about "Crouch's first goal"? It was definitely an OG for me, but no denying his second one, that was a good goal.

i think since the ball was going in anyway he should be credited with it. This isn't out of just wanting to see the guy get a goal. i think thats the way it should be.

But there is no real way of knowing it was goin in anyway, the ball deflected off the defender almost the instant it left Crouch's foot, it was a dramatic deflection to say the least. And then after that the keeper pretty much punched the ball into his own net and OG on two counts if you ask me. But the only why will really know is when the goal is officially credited to either Crouch or as an OG.

When i say "it was going in"i mean it was going in after the deflection off the defender. The fact the goalie palmed it in is neither here nor there.
I've just been watching barca Vs Villareal and deco took a shot, it hit a defender, wrong footed the keeper and flew in. The goal is credited to him. Crouch's first is exactly the same as that except the keeper made a fanny of himself.

I seen that match too, and I do agree that Deco's shot was his goal but the deflection wasn't half as much as Crouch's. I mean Crouch was aiming for the bottom corner (or so it seemed) and it ended up going in the top, all I'm saying is I just think their was too much of a deflection on Crouch's shot (even before the keeper hit it) to credit it to him.

The overpayed morons got what they deserved! I can't even be upset after a horrible display lke that!
I actually think this is a good thing, it will give them the kick in the arse they need to wake the fuck up!
The "young guns" showed that they choke when pressured...the goal came from a Giggs-Neville-Scholes play. Rooney and Ronaldo need to grow the fuck up, and stop bitchin to the referee all the time and concentrate on doing what they're payed to do.
I refuse to think United's best years are over...I firmly believe in 2-3 years, when the kids grow up and Fergie brings a few new experienced players, Europe will be ours once again

I don't think Fergie will have another season
He needs to step aside, he's passed it. Not to mention he keeps making horrifc signings - the Man Utd team sheet is rather comical when u compare it to 5-6 years ago.
Fergie no longer seems to know how to deal with his players - Beckham and Keane both stormed off, a manager can't upset players he relies on like that.
I think a new manager is a priority - Man Utd need new ideas
And for a team so heavily in debt, i wonder what losing out in the Champions League will do to Mr Glazer's budget (has he been to any of their matches?)
Not even getting the UEFA cup spot.....dear oh dear

Well, it's clear that Sir Alex is past
his
best. Oh, far and wide.
But I just wonder, could they bring anybody in to suitably replace him?
We fell on our feet with Martin Jol, and really that's what United need to do; looking up and down the table, it's hard to find a suitable enough manager that could really work for them.
At least, not one that would go to United...

Well, for me it's not Alex that's past his best, it's the young players coming through the side, they're just not good enough, I mean compare the young players United have brought through their ranks in Alex's time, i.e Beckham, Scholes, Giggs, Neville etc. to the young players he's got now, Fletcher, Richardson etc. They're just not up to standard, the only young player for me that's making any impression, bar Rooney, is Bardsley.

Well part of being a good manager is finding the new talent - Fergie was very lucky to inherit a fine crop of young stars - things could have been very different other wise

He did much more than inherit them...for example, he spotted Giggs when he was 14, while he was playing for City ! And even Beckham admits he would't be the player he is without Ferguson

That looks bad for Fergie then - cos Beckham is an incredibly limited player, can't dribble, head, tackle etc, doesn't look like Fergie did much at all
