Well, see, I can explain that quite easily...
You understand that everybody is seeded, right? So that pretty much eliminates the possibility of United getting any of the
big
Guns. What with country protection, that also eliminates Chelsea.
Add that to the fact that half the teams in the Champions League this year are pretty dyer, and you have your answer.
Nobody
actually had a 'difficult' group.
Picking first and second for each group is pretty much a no brainer in betting terms.
True and true
But Man Utd always seem to get the easiest of a load of easy groups
Thsi year i believe Arsenal have the easiest group - imagine my surprise. Whether by luck or intention, they have been treated very kindly by the draw for many years now
the only reason utd's groups are easy is cos united are so much better than the other teams in theyr group, theres a big difference between the top clubs like united and the rest
if liverpool were anygood then yous wouldnt be worried about who was in your group or who was in uniteds group, just worry bout your own group and forget hoping that utd will get a tough group so someone else mite knock them out
liverpool, champions of europe, gimme a break theyr not even the best team in liverpool

And as far as the Champions League goes if we rig the groups, draws etc. 1. How come we have not been penalised for it?
What? Are u just naive?
Quote
2. How come we've only won it twice in the club's history?
Because your not very good in the latter stages?
I never said it was definetly rigged, i just wondered why the draw is always so kind to them...

Really? I thought they were all the same

Have i said any where i'm worried about Liverpool's group? Check my posts.....
I'm really excited about Liverpool's group. I happen to find the champs league the most tedious competition in the world untill the final rounds - Liverpool v Chelsea will be awesome, so much better than Liverpool v unknown Slovakian team - thats 90 mins of my life i can spend better!
Quote
or who was in uniteds group, just worry bout your own group and forget hoping that utd will get a tough group so someone else mite knock them out
Man Utd are a fraction of what they once where - i don't care how they do, cos they won't get far enough to matter. Maybe if they actually replaced their quota of ancient players i might care....

Lol, so true
Considering we dealt with Chelsea, Juventus and Milan on the way we must have rather more ability locked away than u'd give them credit for.

If you actually look at the statistics to the average United game, we'll have more desicions against us than for us, even against Newcastle Van Nistelrooy got booked for what blatantly should have been a penalty.
Next time someone bumps past me on the highstreet i'm going to throw myself to the ground and have them arrested for gbh.
Yes there was contact but ruud was half way down before any came in. Who was it that said you'd need to be machine gunned down to win a penalty at old trafford if you were the away team.
Still, they don't get nearly half the decisions celtic and rangers get up here in scotland....

Surely that's because Celtic and Rangers are the only
real
football teams?

We've got our own mini-Abramovich at Hearts and he's gonna win us the league. With George Burley at the helm things are looking good.

Well, if Rudd dived how come of any coverage of that match I have seen the experts say it should have been a penalty?

OK come on now, naive? This is just ridiculous, if anyone was caught cheating, bribing etc. in any major world or continental sports tournament in any sport they would be severely dealt with. United get no special treatement in the Champions League and if they did surely they would be able to bribe their way through the second stages too.

Exactly, that's the point I'm trying to make, anytime we do well in anything, we're cheating or bribing or some other bullshit, it's ridiculous.

Congratulations to Scotland, and a huge congratulations to the Northern Irish.
Irlend demonstrated what England don't have a clue about at the moment:
Battling, and giving 110%, as a team.

Horrah - Sven is so close to the end and that means i can start watching England games again
Its hilarious listening to people defend him or trying to dodge the issue by blaming the players

Ahh, though not an excuse, it is all too true.
The formation was bad, but our midfield, Beckham asside, played dreadfully.
