...You're a United fan, I can't believe you just came out with that.
Gary Neville is quite possibly one of the most consistent players in the world.
He'd be one of only about four players who would be 100% in my starting 11 for every competetive international.

Meh, that is one of the reasons...
...But, regardless, he's still playing for Manchester United for a reason.

all jokes aside, neville is a consistant performer. I just can't see you winning world cups with players like him in your team.
If anyone watched brazil in the confederations cup over the summer they seem to have a high quality player to back every position. That right back Cissinho (sp) looked as good as Cafu. He was bombing it up and down the wing. One or two injuries to the england team and it starts looking weak. If you've got your strongest 11 you should be one of the best on earth. Lose a couple of players tho....

Just because I'm a United fan it doesn't mean I have to like every United player...Gary Neville is a good, but far from brilliant right back, and his biggest quality is his playing relationship with Becks.
Oh, and here's another one: when Rio's not next to him, Silvestre is shit.

You can't have 11 brilliant players (well, 10 brilliant players and Gary Neville) and play this bad. It was like there's no fuckin tactic, it's every man for himself, and no matter how good your players are, this kind of game will never work in modern Football.
Pretty much how i saw it
Sven just seems to send them out without any tactics - players don't even seem to know which position they are in, as if each midfielder hits the pitch unsure if he should actually be on the left wing or maybe even up front.....
-----
On a lighter note - the Owen saga is beginning to get tedious - will Liverpool move for him or not? We're clearing out the strikers as if in preparation - and yet endlessly deby any interest
Perhaps its to fool Real Madrid ''oh we'll have him if u insist'', but i get the impression Benitez really doesn't want him but is being over ruled
I clearly want him back in the team but i doubt Benitez's style with the isolated lone striker will work with Owen

United 1-0 Aston Villa. We played pretty well and were consistent in both attack or defence. Villa created literally no chances, with 0 attempts on goal. However they played a good defensive game and kept us at bay for most of the match, again I was very pleased with Park, I think he will play a major role in the club's future and was surprised when he was substituted.
United Man of The Match: Roy Keane
Villa Man of The Match: Sorenson

It sucks that Solano has mouthed off about wanting to leave at this stage. Still O'Leary is a twat for leaving him out against Man Utd, top scorer last season for us, and supplied Phillip's goal last week. Left him out.. for De La Cruz who hasn't yet learnt that if you just run it into a Man Utd player, they will get the ball of you! (Whittingham isn't much better).
Man U are definately a good chance this season.

Playing good or bad is only defined by the potential of your team.
Did you watch any La Liga games last year? Or, even better, Champions League! They were dreadful. At times, truly awful.

This is interesting: Alan Smith will start tonight's game as a defensive midfielder!!!
Fergie says he'll train him to be Keane's long term replacement

i dont think hes going to be good enough for it
hes a striker at heart, and he wont have that natural defensive abaility that keane does, you cant really train that into someone

When u see how few goals he's scored in his career it becomes fairly apparent that either he is rubbish or he is playing in the wrong position
I believe he is rubbish

I think Smith may be a good replacement for Keane if he is commited enough, trains well and is given his chance. Watching Smith, even as a striker, although his technical skill isn't world class he is one of the most dedicated, end-to-end players in the squad, or even in the Premiership. And when he does score he often wins the ball for himself, and creates his own chances. If given a good run at it, and by putting in 110% I think he might just be our man.
