United2-0Everton!
I was very satisfied with the United performance, and VanNistelrooy's goal was excellently worked from the beginning. Rooney's goal was a gift, but I will not complain! All credit, however, to Ronney for such a cool, calm finish. Van Der Sar was brilliant for us, and hope he will stay at Old Trafford until he decides to retire. Park Ji-Sung also had an amazing debut, he created chances almost every time he had the ball and seems to be fitting in in the Premiership from the get-go. I hope to see results this good from United for the entire season.
United Man of the Match: Park Ji-Sung

It was reassuring to know Liverpool hadn't changed a bit - 0-0 against Boro - couldn't see that one coming!

i don't think liverpool have any more right to finishing in the top 4 than tottenham. Liverpool are still a couple of defenders away from that right. If everything clicks for spurs they could do it.
Just back from the third game of the SPL season watching Hearts and i've just seen us pick up our third win in a row. 4-2, 4-0 and 3-0. It's a good time to be a jambo.

It's finally over. Undoubtedly the dullest story since ashley coles tapping up affair has ended. Lyon have finally accepted chelski's bid for essien. Personally i think the boy will be great and will push makelele out of the team within 2 years (which is a huge compliment as claude is the best in the world at his job). I'd still love for him to be shite tho just to make this whole debacle a true waste of time.

ooooooh. I can't
wait
for the end of the season now.?
I can understand that that has pretty much been the case for the past...urm...decade or so...
But...
...Are you a football fan? If so, take a look at our squad. Surely you'll admit that there's talent there? I mean, how's that for an English backbone? Lovely stuff.
Plus, for the first time....well, maybe since I started watching football...We have a decent manager. I would take Martin 'total football' Jol over Benny any day of the week.

Edgar Davids should make that difference to the squad
Davids may help bring on some of spurs' younger players but he'll be eaten alive in the premiership. Yes, he has quality but does he have the temperment. The english game is very physical and whilst edgar likes putting in strong challenges i don't think he'll enjoy 90 minutes against certain teams if things are going his way.
Gone by christmas is my prediction for Davids.

Yes the english game is physical, but Davids had to be brought in for a reason. Davids has the power to score from 18m + out and that really shouldnt be overlooked. His veterency in the Itallian leauge should also give a morale boost to the rest of the spurs. Besides, it soccer we're talking about.

davids has been brought in because he has a reputation as a great player. He also has a reputation as being arrogant and going into hiding when things don't go right for the team. Jol is dutch so is davids; thats the main reason.
As for scoring from outside the box, i'd say that because of the lighter balls being used nowadays any professional footballer who can't spank a ball shouldn't bother lacing their boots on a saturday.

Seen it all before, it was going to be Robbie Keane that would change the world - Glen Hoddle's return was going to get them 3rd etc etc
I've seen it every season - and it will end as it always does
Spurs team seems okay - but Davids - ha! No one wanted him, not Barcelona, not Juventus - both teams had a look and got rid of him - don't rate him at all, maybe 4 years ago....
I suppose u could sneak 5th by the simple fact once again every team in the league is so average, only Chelsea look a better team than last year.....

Yes!
England decimated, its better than i had hoped for
Don't get me wrong - i'm an Englishman and i want us to rule the world - but only with defeats like this can Sven be got rid of - the worse we play the closer his sacking gets
He is without doubt the worst England manager ever, and most likely the worst manager in top flight football - i can't even bare to watch England matches they are such abymal affairs
But with defeats like this it shows he's lost the players faith - he'll be gone soon, and we can go back to winning games and playing decent football
Bye bye Sven

atleast this will quieten down the media for a little while, but i guarantee the next time england win a match The Sun, et al will making predictions about Beckham lifting the Gilles Roumet.....
For the first time in a while i can honeslty say scotland played well tonight. We held the ball for long periods and looked dangerous on the attack and that was without ferguson, dickov, hartley, mcfadden and fletcher. Don't get me wrong, we're still pish. Just a slightly higher order of pish.

Not only did England play its usual dull unimaginative Football, but they got hammered this time...and, of course, it's all Sven's fault.
You can't have 11 brilliant players (well, 10 brilliant players and Gary Neville) and play this bad. It was like there's no fuckin tactic, it's every man for himself, and no matter how good your players are, this kind of game will never work in modern Football.
