Away from the English Premiership, the blue half of Glasgow did'nt enjoy the best of weekends there. And being a Rangers fan, I was most certainly one of those. We were put out of the Scottish cup by our bitter rivals Celtic 2-1. We do however have a semi final place in the League cup and are only 3 points behind Celtic in the leagu, so all is not lost.
Come on the Rangers!!

Chelski-Man Utd just finished 0-0.
Man, I forgot how shitty ManU's defence is without Rio! I can't believe they got away with the clean sheet

Its the optimism of Spurs fans that always makes me smile - its charming in a hopelessy naive and sad way
Every season - many signings, a new manager, sometimes even a good start - and then 12th place. Every year. You can kind of set your watch to it - the only consistent thing in football.
I wish Spurs the best, god knows its about time they finished in the top half but i don't think this season will be much of an improvemenet on all the others. But lets find out.
Well...
...I think that for anybody that actually watches football and checks the results every week (do you do that isabel?) will see that by now it's look increasingly more like you are wrong.
Hopelessly naive and sad? Well...
...You will surely be the latter when Stevie leaves in the summer.

I know ur revising but don't take it out on me
My post was actual very pro Spurs, hence 'i wish Spurs all the best' - try reading it again, i sad it was SAD they always did badly, i don't think Spurs will get a European place - but like i wrote 'let's find out' - Spur's deserve it.?
As for Steven leaving - he's contracted till 2007 - so that would be a cool 20-30 million in the bank, pleasure doing buisness with u - that money would buy us another striker, another defender and get us Pablo Aimar too - no player is irreplacable (and no player is worth 30 million) As Chelsea would compete against Real Madrid maybe it would be even higher.....serious money!

Liverpool has just signed Morientes? ?
Not just yet - still a medical to go.....but fingers crossed. Atleast he seems keen, he is a wonderful player, i hope he ain't too rusty from recent inactivity, its certainly a boost for the Man Utd game - imagine if he scored, a debut goal against Man Utd

Isabel...
No. Your post was patronising. Very patronising. So why don't
you
go back and read your own post again. If you understand what patronism is my dear child, then you may just be able to see what I mean, okay?
Charming.
Rather the money than Gerrard? No player is irreplacable? Now that's not true. You can fill the void left, but it won't be a true 'replacement' as such, given his quality. And remember, it is also his presence that you are going to miss.
And...
What do you mean by 'revising'?

Now now boys, calm down!
Tottenham looks great this season, and it looks more like a team, not just 11 good players, like in the past seasons.
If Liverpool want to get out of the shit they've been swimming in for the last 20 years, they have to stop selling their symbols. I've seen players like Redknapp, Fowler, Owen and a few others that I can't remember right now, get thrown out, and now Gerrard, who's probably the most talented player this club has had since the golden years. Money means shit compared to a payer who's willing to give his best to the club he loves, not just to the club that payes his salary.

Money is indeed a great asset to have at any club, especially in today financial climate. But in my oppinion, great players are'nt (in the most cases) replaced at the club once they've been farmed out for millions.
David Beckham,
Man Utd
-
Real Madrid
, was'nt adequately replaced.
Barry Ferguson,
Rangers
-
Blackburn
, was'nt adequately replaced.
Ronaldo,
Inter Milan
-
Real Madrid
, was'nt adequately replaced.
There are loads to choose from, that's just 3 off the top of my head. The point is though, unless you have a manager who can replace these most influential of players, then all the money in the world is no use.
It may all be very well having Fernando Morientes at your team, but what happens if Liverpool cash in on the guy who creates these chances for the strikers to put away?

Although...
We lost to Chelsea in a similar manner that Arsenal lost to United, no?

What do you mean by 'revising'?
Just something u send in the wrestling thread.
Any player can be replaced, no one player makes a team - and from Stevie's annoynomous performance against Man Utd, i'd say 20 mill was more than fair.

Well people, it's Scum City vs Scum Utd plc on Wednesday - who is everyone backing to win? Personally, it's very rare for me to say it but if Excreta won at least it would make the rest of country rejoice in Man Utd humiliation!
You would not beleive how irritating it is to be an Argyle fan living in East Devon with all the fucking excreta vs Utd hype that's around at the moment.

Burnley were couragous.
Liverpool were woeful.
The match was okay.
The result was very funny, and pleasing to the eye.

Lol - it wasn't a massive surprise we lost against Burnley, i barely knew of the player's we fielded, i expected a defeat - but at the hands of Dudeck.
Am i the only one who thinks Man Utd are paying Dudeck off? Every time we play Man Utd he makes really deliberate mistakes - and yet rarely makes them in other games? If i was at the FA i'd be investigating his finances.

Leeds bought by Bates!
I don't trust him to do totally right by Leeds United but he ahs saved us from another possible relegation, so I applaud him for that.

Oh no, Watford tonight
In the form we're in i'm expecting many many goals - but sadly, in the wrong end.
Liverpool have been in perpetual crisis for years, though to be fair this is the first year in many i've actually been confident we won't be relgated....
I'd rather we lose in the semi finals than lose in the final (losing a final is so devestating - just thought i'd remind those fans of various teams that never make it that far
), and as Chelsea will be waiting for us we might as well surrender now.....
