Argh!
Why did I think it would be a good idea to go up to Manchester to watch that game? I really, really did
not
enjoy that game.
For the record, although I admit Arsenal didn't play well enough to win in the second half, the ref made to awful decisions that ultimately made all (yes, all) the difference. Rio should have gone for his foul on Freddie and, annoyingly, went on to be my undoubted man of the match. Also, Roony is a spoilt brat, and I definately think he dived for the penalty.
Ah well. 49 isn't bad.

Yup, it was a dive.
But the only reason Arsenal had the winning streak was because Pires dived against Pompey last season. What goes around..........

Yeah, well, whatever, because the Ronaldo incident was definatly a penalty, so it's all evened out in the end....
I really enjoyed the match, I celebrated like I was a fucking United supporter...
...Although, part of me wanted them to get 50 and then get beaten by us in November, but now I think that Arsenal will just take out any frustration on us....

Yeah, the Ronaldo incident
was
a penalty (again, a cowardly decision by Riley to just ignore the incident, as he did with the Rio foul). I don't think that counts though - the whole shape of the game had changed by then. We had to push players forward and get a bit reckless, hence Utd's second goal as well.

Yeah, well, of course it wouldn't have happened if they hadn't got the first penalty, but it doesn't matter, it's football talk.
It's like saying "we could have four or five by now". Well, no, because if the team had scored the first chance...They might not have had any more, and even if they did they would have been completly different because everything changes.
Noone cares.
49. Pretty painful.

Man Utd really needed that win against Arsenal. Could be a major turning point for them. Had they lost, and continued their poor form for a couple of games more.. they would have been in serious trouble (which would have been fantastic!).. even for Man Utd who can always make a late charge.
Well with Cole looking like he may return to Chelsea when the transfer window opens, useless Vassell and Barry injured, Villa are in dire trouble in terms of squad size. Will Doug FINALLY allow O'Leary to buy a couple of players when the window opens?!?!?

Maybe I'm not the most objective person on the matter, but I think you're all a little paranoid. The referee hasn't made a clear 100% mistake, all his decisions would had been contested even if they would have gone in Arsenal's direction.

Exactly. Someone...Made a good point, I think some fool at Sky Sports. Arsenal fans will say that United have had eight penalties in eight games. United fans will say that they
deserved
eight penalties in eight games.
Surely you've all seen the view the referee had of the incident by now? If any of you (including the Top Hatted one) say you wouldn't have given the penalty from the referees perspective then you're a lying bastard.?
I think that more of a concern, and a constant issue, is that the clear Ronaldo penalty wasn't given because of cowardice, and for exactly because of the reasons that you are claiming United got the first penalty for...
Oh, and if you think that the 'humour' posted on the e-bay site is funny then I can easily see how much our taste in comedy differs Izzy.?

No, I don't think anybody could seriously have contested Rio's foul on Freddie.? That was pretty much the definition of a professional foul.
The reason Arsene has put so much emphasis on the Ruud tackle was that we'd been getting fouled constantly throughout the game, and the referee was giving us no protection at all.? Man U were clearly trying to rough us up, with Reyes being the one singled out the most.? Riley flashed out the occasional yellow card, but in general there was no real punishment at all.? Then Ruud commits this horrible foul and what happens?? That's right, nothing.
The Penalty was just the icing on the cake.? What made it hurt so bad was the fact that there was never any doubt that he was gonna give it.? A Man Utd player goes down in the box in a huge game like this, with the crowd at their loudest, I didn't for a second think that the ref would give anything else.? If the ref had not made many mistakes leading up to the penalty, it'd be Rooney who'd get the brunt of my anger - but the fact is he consistently went for the safe option to please the home crowd, and now damn fucking right he's taking some criticism.

Yes, that is often the case, but surely you can see that this is an exception.? Do you really think we would have let in the second goal if the first penalty had never been given?? We went a goal behind late on, so we pushed everyone up and got caught on the break.? It's the same with the Ronaldo foul - we were pushing forward and lost our solidity at the back, making us reckless.? Yes, that was the one time in the game where Riley going for the easy option worked in our favour but, obviously, it was too late by then.
Apparently, Rooney actually admitted to Campbell that he dived, and i've heard no comments from Man Utd denying this.? You can imagine it, can't you?? That smug little brat, being too pleased with himself to keep his mouth shut, David Beckham style.
Aah well, at least we've established how to beat this Arsenal side.

One thing is for sure,in a ManU-Arsenal game, dirty play by both teams is a sure thing. When the Arsenal players saw that ManU were making many hard tackles, they started going down and screaming like pussies.

No, they didn't. They were screaming like pussies because they were being crippled by the Utd players. Reyes had to recieve treatment four times, to my memory - and all Reyes wants to do is play his game, i'm certain of that.
On tonight's game, I was truely proud and truely ashamed of Arsenal's reserve team against Man City. There were so many great points about them. In the second half, they played some really Arsenal-style football, and really outclassed a Premiership team. The goals were brilliant, and it really does seem like we're gathering some great talent.
However, at a time when we have sternly criticised Wayne Rooney for his diving, I have to admit that our lads did not represent the team very well. They were constantly falling over in the box to try and win penalties, and they had no need to. When they stopped trying to show off and started playing their game, they actually outclassed a full-strength Man City side. The diving was embarassing.
I honestly think that, as someone who watches Arsenal play a
lot
, we are in general a very honest side. When we had a poor disciplinary record, it was almost always us reacting to other teams intentionally provoking them (ie, cheating). I'm not denying that we have dived sometimes (yes, yes, that fucking Portsmouth game - I really wish everyone would shut up about that) but overall we have usually been the victims of it.

Whine, bitch, moan......get fucking over it, Danny.
Did you see Southampton, Portsmouth, Leeds or any of the lower premiership sides complaining when Arsenal were taking the ball down the corner flag with 15mins to go last season to defend a 1-0 lead? You got beat. Beat, beat, beat.
And let's not forget Pires dives at every given oppertunity, and Cole is the worst tackler in the premiership.
But blame the ref, the wind, your hair, my libido. You got beat.

Hey, read any sports page and they'll be talking about it. I'm just joining in the debate.

Pires has dived before, although nowhere near as much as everyone likes to make out (maybe 4 times a season? Not saying it's okay, but he's hardly Ronaldo). Where have you been for the past two seasons? Cole is now one of the
best
tacklers in the Premiership. In fact, he's probably the second best left-back in the World at the moment.
Why is it people always try to end debates by saying 'get over it'? Debates are fun! I know we got beat, beat, beat - and now i'm talking about it, post match. What's the problem?

Yeah, I know, I was only kidding, kinda. It's just a very one sided argument you put across.
Ashley Cole is still one of the dirtiest players in the league and I'm saying this as a neutral. He's a not a bad player, hardly quality though, infact he's admittited himself he hasn't played his best football international or european level, so I don't think you can compare to any world class players, when playing against many players who haven't made it themselves in europe, or are too old to play in other european leagues.
Ruud will probably get a 3 match ban because of his challange. Redknapp made a terrible tackle recently, and got away with it, why? Because not everyone moans like Arsenal (not that I condone bad tackles). Twice in 2 years they haven't been able to get the result they wanted in Manchester, and both times, they've thrown the dummy out of the pram. But the FA has proved more than once that it's full of shit.
I have a huge respect for the football they play, but I mean, jesus they're like kids sometimes.
Man UTD are the same in many ways, I guess people just pay more attention when you're a bigger club.
