I hate Liverpool less since Houlier left though.
Welcome to the board btw!
I don't! I do hate them slightly less since we're 8 places above them in the table, though!
Thanks for the welcome too!

OK - I'm new here, and I can't be bothered to read through the last 55 pages..... so are there any other Evertonians here, or am I the only one?
I don't know about Everton fans, but you can rant about Liverpool all you want, nobody will mind
Izzy might, but in all honesty, no-one important will care?

Yes i am the boards resident Liverpool fan - do i hate Everton? Not at all, they are hardly rivals in any sense of the word - more like a charity case u can't help but feel sorry for, additionally no matter how bad things get at the 'pool i only have to look across Stanley Park to know things can get sooooo much worse

At the moment I'd say things were rosier for Everton, apart from financial positions!

Considering skipping work to watch the England game...
Why? It'll be boring like all their other games. At least Wales will put some effort in. Switch on Sky Sports and watch N. Ireland mate. Eire are on BBC1 also.
If Wales made some effort I didn't see much of it! They were a walk-over.
On the subject of N.Ireland. They've got one of my team's players at left back - Tony Capaldi - and even though I want England to win I'd love to see an Argyle player brutalise Beckham!

Anoraks and slow-motion replays at the ready people...
Who can see the deflection on Beckham's goal vs Wales? Is it just me or was he going for the near post?

True - but do u honestly think Liverpool will finish outside the top 4 and Everton even within the top 10?

Yeah, he's not a bad player. We have fuck all chance against England, but there's always hope. Footballs a funny old game.

I had Owen to score first at 4-1.
Okay, so I would only have got a tenner, but still, I did it because I thought he would....
Trust me, any betting people, always have Lampard to score first.
I've won money off him three times.
Although, I think that surely his odds will begin to decline now...
And Wales did try. They're just shit in comparrison to us. And that isn't a big headed statement. In a match like that when we both played reasonably well in relation to how we can play, you really can see the margin between the two countries.

Bah, the Owen thing pisses me off.
Okay, so Owen's desperately doing his best to claim England's first goal. Why?? He clearly didn't mean to touch it - in fact he was trying to get out the way. It took a huge deflection off him, true, but how can he claim responsibility for it? It's pathetic, him going on every paper possible saying "I always thought it was my goal, it would have been saved but I touched it in".
However, in typical Michael Owen style, one moment of luck (and we're talking real,
real
luck) and all of his poor form is forgotten. The sports headline in the Mirror reads 'It's men against Bhoys as Owen proves he's still a class act' - WTF?!

That's why it's hardly worth reading the papers for England stuff! They're full of crap.

England are shit. Sven is shit. If you're going to play with four midfielders, then for fucks sake, play four midfielders. Don't play three midfielders and our best striker. We need width, and we need an organised strike force. What I just watched, had neither (although wright-phillips did quite well in introducing the first of those two). Playing Owen
and
Defoe is also pretty stupid. Both are out and out strikers, and neither seem to be able to pass the ball effectively, so playing them together is never going to be a good idea.

Steven's drumming made the band; he made a big musical difference. His sense of swing was the push and pull that gave those songs their feel, afterwards, nothing worked.

Nice one, I think he's just what we need, the rest of our team looks good apart from up front, if he scores regularly for us we could still challenge for the playoffs because we've only conceeded 8 goals all season! and kept like 8 clean sheets aswell!
Was wondering Chris, why do you want to see him at Leeds? Is it because you think it will improve him for N Ireland?

I've been in Leeds loads, I like the city, and the people are very friendly.
But yeah, Leeds are a better squad, and it can only benefit him.
Plus, it may give Andy Smith more first team football at Preston (other N. Ireland striker) so it could be really good for both players.

Healy scoring does matter, he's our Henry, except better. You tart.
