I think he was joking....
Chelsea haven't bought any obscure and over rated players for 100 million this week - what a shame it provides a laugh us Liverpool fans seldom enjoy
Drogba - 24 mill? But of course!
Mr Abramovich - turn off Championship manager!

Looks like the FA are looking for an excuse to get rid of Sven - with any luck his affair will ensure he gets fired and then maybe we can get a good England manager

Hopefully, let's face it with that team he should have done better in Euro 2004, he's just a crap manager!

Finally some support!
Sven is shite - one league win to his name (and he managed some of the best teams in Italy - including the Roma side that lost out on the '84 champions league final - to Liverpool
)

Two squirrels, a dustbin and a Russian submarine would display a better knowledge of tactics then Sven - ''thats it, when u have the ball hoof it upfield, don't try and pass it just smack it and hope for the best''
England have good players - yet shite team, its Mr Sven's job to make them gel.
Who would i replace him with? - Gerrard Houllier - then we can play even more boring defensive football and when we lose we can blame it on injuries!
Steve McClaren perhaps would be a good choice

I don't think he has the credentials for that job yet, but anything that's likely to lead to the blue scum going back to Division 1 where they belong, I'd go for.

Yeah! Scholes quits international football - he's finally gone and i always thought it would take a sniper to remove him!
Now if we can get Sven to go to......*sees England playing good football*

Scholes quitting international football is no great loss. He's been totally ineffective of late. Although he shouldn't have been played on the left side of Sven's diamond.
Looks like Villa are set for another mid-table season, losing friendlies against Walsall and Derby, and signing two loan players, a decent defender (Laursen) and a former french under 21 player?
If three or more players get injured this year, its a relegation battle. Sadly Birmingham City seem to be assembling a squad that's getting slowly stronger and stronger. Having just announced a 10m loss, there is no way Ellis will splash any cash. What were they thinking paying silly wages to the likes of Ginola, Alpay, Hadji, Kachoul, Balaban and further back Collymore. If I were Ellis I would have told Collymore after season one, that his performances and return on investment, warranted a major wage cut. Besides Mellberg, Delaney (to a degree), Barry, Samuel and Angel, the team is very average. Can't see us getting anywhere with the likes of Allback, Hendrie, Vassell, Hitzleberger and co. putting in less than impressive performances.
Could be worse.. I could be a Leeds supporter?
I'm not liking the chances of West Brom or Palace staying up!

Lol - Norwich won't get a single point - not one player in the whole team good enough to be a sub in another premiership team. Truly awful.

I wonder what kind of odds you would get for all three promoted teams going back down, cos its looking very likely! Still.. long season ahead!
I have a feeling it's going to be a great season at the top of the table this year. I'm predicting a very decent season for the likes of Newcastle and Liverpool, I think the top 4 or 5 (with Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal) could all top the premiership at various points of the season. I hope Chelsea finish below them all. I can't believe there is team that I'll actually be happy if Man U finish ahead of!

Without a doubt, Martin O' Neil.
Looks like Viera's definately going to Madrid. When the speculation began, I did not want him to go, but to be honest now I don't really care. If we manage to bag Maniche as a replacement, it would make next season very, very exciting. I'd love for Morientes to play alongside Henry as well, but it looks like that probably won't happen.
One problem with Maniche is that I don't think Gilberto is good, strong or hard-working enough to cover our defence without any help. Machine, Pires and Ljungberg would be deadly going forward, but we'll need (dare I say it?) a Viera-type figure to give us balance at the back.

If you get Maniche you probably wont have to worry about you're defence. I think any defensive weaknesses Veira will leave will be offset by attacking opportunities Maniche will bring. Henry, Reyes and Bergkamp are better than any other team in the leagues top three frontmen, and Pires is probably the best attacking midfielder in the league.
He
scored more goals last season than most clubs centre-forwards.
But if you're still worried, for the right money I'm sure you could persuade Gerrard to leave Liverpool...sooner or later he'll realise that they're never going to win anything, especially when Michael Owen is their best striker.
As for England manager, I'd like Ferguson, or even better Wenger. As much as I hate both their club teams, I have to admit, they are two of the greatest managers I've ever seen. Both have an incredible ability to motivate their players, and build a team rather than assemble a group of individuals. And neither would EVER put Emile Heskey in any of their teams, which should be a pre-requisite for any future England bosses. Pity neither will ever manage England though...

Steven's drumming made the band; he made a big musical difference. His sense of swing was the push and pull that gave those songs their feel, afterwards, nothing worked.

Wenger would be my choice without a doubt.
He always manages to get the best out of some players I thought just didn't have it, and have the team gel so well.
I think Arsenal will need someone with some decent defensive qualities in there. Real really needed that player like Vieria last campaign along the likes of Beckham, Figo and Zidane. Man U have one with Keane, Liverpool with Gerrard, Chelsea have Makelele and now Newcastle have Nicky Butt.

I'd take Maniche any day.
We have just bought a French U-21 defensive midfielder, so maayyybbeee Arsene can merge him into the next Viera. I wouldn't care if Gilberto were dropped - now that Viera's gone, he's not gonna be able to get away with the lazy form of the past two seasons.
Now here's a question that some Man U/Spurs fan is gonna get right, just to make me look stupid. The answer's on the tip of my tongue, but I can't quite remember: Who played centre midfield with Viera between the days of Petit and Gilberto?
In regards to the England post, Wenger and Ferguson would both be amazing, but neither of them are gonna happen. Both are too loyal to their club teams (and damn right too, Arsene). That's why Martin O' Neil, the third best manager in Britain, is the best choice.
