17 mill is loose change for Chelski these days.
After Portsmouth, Arsenal's run of games goes:
Inter
Man U
Liverpool
Newcastle
Chelsea
Should be fun!

Big Arsenal fan. I've decided that I might as well try to enjoy this season. Big games
are
fun to watch, even if they are agony.

I wouldn't worry, i tip Arsenal for the league, though you could have used a whole wave of new signings, Toure in defence.....ouch

I'm not so sure, I think Toure can do a decent job back there for us. His positioning isn't great right now, but that can improve, and it's not easy to get past him.
Trouble is, if Campbell is gonna continually get himself sent off or suspended, I wouldn't call Toure and Cygan a championship winning line-up...

Hmm, u got a point there but i think Arsenal will win it cos i just don't think the others have the consistancy esp my team Liverpool.
Man Utd aren't the team they once were, hell even last year they were better.......
Chelsea will flounder eventually...they haven't signed players that are THAT good
Newcastle....a big stadium does not make you a big team....and it certainly doesn't make u a good team, really needed some buys and being out of the CL will prevent any more signings this season me thinks.....

well as a newcastle fan i'm pissed off at the way our club has been managed over the summer. promises of summer buys came and gone and were replaced by talk of caution due to uncertainty of CL qualification, stupidly and perhaps ironicly it was the fact we didnt buy, and played egotastically c**ts who dont relaise they arent such good players, ie dyer shola etc, we are now out. well apprently they think they can win the uefa cup, feck sake, we havent even kicked a balll in the competition yet. what happens when we come up against decent teams who have been knocked out of the uefa cup?

England v Macedonia...what a disgrace..i am embarrased to be English, a team of England quality should have won 3-0 at least, instead we conceeded a goal and needed a penalty to win! What makes 11 great players play like amateur's? One word: Sven. How this man is still in a job baffles me. Well Leicenstein tommorow if that isn't a 6-0 rampage.......

We've been winning lately, and that's all I care about.
Why can't England play like Arsenal or Man U? Cause they don't play nine month's worth of football a year together.

Very true.
Two things that annoyed me about how we played though:
1. We attacked terribly in the first half taking into consideration who we had up front. Both Rooney and Owen are fast paced, but have trouble holding the ball.
We played too far into the Maccedonian half. We should have lured them into our half, and then used Rooney and Owen's pace, hitting the ball over the top. England are a counter-attacking team. It's how we score.
We don't play like Italian (league/Seria A) teams do, with the whole team moving forward.
We need a structured defence, due to it's lack of consistency at times, a midfield that plays down the wing, with a forward like Lampard playing through the centre of midfield to feed Owen and Rooney though.
However, I was very impressed with Heskey in the second half. He did exactly what was required of him.
2. The holding of the ball in the dying minutes. Remember I had a problem with that after the FA Cup final, and said I still would even if I supported the team? Well here we are. I thought that it was a fucking disgrace that we need to play like that. Although I did have a big smile on my face. Seeing them getting pissed off was kind of enjoyable, after the fans burnt The Flag of St George. I see why Danny wasn't complaining after the FA Cup.
But, I still think that we shouldn't have done it.
Anyway...We won. And as said, that's all that matters.
A cricket score against Liechtenstein and then hopefully a reasurring win over Turkey to give us confidence going into the finals.

I think that Owen up front was a bad choice. When he's on form, he's awesome, but when he's not...well, he's just....average. Same with Heskey I guess, and like UI said, against Macedonia he was pretty good.
I think it would be interesting to try Scholes as a proper striker, because, I think he would be awesome. I mean, he can't tackle to save his life, so he's always playing attacking midfield anyway, but, I think if he was pushed right up, to partner...someone, I'm not sure who, he would do really well because he can hold the ball, and supply, which are things Owen seems to lack.
PS. Sunderland won some games!!!!!!! Woohooooooooo!!!
PPS. We sold Kevin Kilbane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was the best transfer EVER!!
BTW. Does anyone else think that Paul Robinson should be in net instead of James?

Yeah I do. I don't trust James at all, he just exaggerates every save to make it look spectacular.
Owen should be replaced with Beattie. What more does a player need to do to get into the side, than out-score all other English players in the Premiership?!
I wouldn't bank on a cricket score against Lichtenstein...

Wha?
? Beattie is a good player but Owen is just a little better i think, Owen didn't do much against Macedonia but has been thumping in the goals for England of late.

I can't remember the last time I saw Owen play and was impressed. He was fantastic as the boy wonder, but as soon as that died down, he's not been half the player

My club Leeds have surprised people, myself included by the start we have made, its not great but it shows promise and I think we'll be safe this year, possibly up towards midtable!
MARCHIN ON TOGETHER!!!!!!!
BTW: we have some very classy players now:Sakho, Viduka, Pennant etc. and some good youngsters:Milner (who I went to school with), Lennon and Carson (the keeper)

Oh wow, you went to school with Milner? That's pretty cool.
He's definatly a player for the future.
He's on loan to Swindon at the moment, so he can get some first team experience. Good move.
Spurs Chlesea is almost over now...
No idea what the score is.
I'm going to wait untill tonight to find out...
So I won't have my heart broken untill later tonight.

God bless Keown.
I hate Keown...And I mean that I really hate him.
I could talk for ages about that match...Why Ruud was innocent...Why it was unfair for those absoloute spineless cunts to gang up on him at the end...But if I did, we'd talk about nothing else all season.
Bad to see Glen go.
He was good tactifully, but could never motivate the team...
Oh well.
