Seems Chelsea are gonna be buying the Premiership title.

They also bid for Steven Gerrard this weekend as well, luckily enough the bid was turned down.

I hate it when this happens, although it does stir up the football world.

this cheski thing is just what footie needs.

however i really belive you can't buy the title. Its impossible. and if they did it would not last.

The team spirit at Manchester United won them the title last year..... you can't buy that.

I heard today that Manchester Unitd might be selling Veron for 14 Million to buy Joaquin from Real Betis.... Now i rate Veron although he has had a few problems but if we get Joaquin then we will have one of the best young players in the world.

Giggs on the left, Keane and Scholes in the Centre and Joaquin on the right.... Thats a better balanced midfield than when we had beckham.

And with Ronaldinho and Van Nistelrooy up top we have creativity galore. I still say we need a world class striker in case Van Nistelrooy gets injured.

I also see that Joe Cole might be leaving West Ham.... We should get him too

When i first heard about Beckham leaving, i didn`t think it was such a wise mood, but he was getting too big for the club. Seeing the players they are looking to bring in has made me change my mind over the who thing, and Joaquin (at least looking at how good he is for Palace on CM) seems to be a quality winger! Generally the whole DB leaving and the money it has brought in, along with Chelsea will make the Premiership much better from a neutral perspective (mine!), also i think Kewell could be the final piece is Liverpools puzzle, after under performing last season i can really see them being "up there".

Also keep an eye out for Newcastle, they have got the makings of a very strong offensive team and i`m sure will be there or there abouts by the end of the season!

Its going to be a goodie!

Aye,

I heard that as well but a different variant to the story.
I heards they were going to do a player + cash with Diego Forlan being the man shown the door.

Speaking of Deigo im writing a book about him called Miskicks and goalposts ~ The story of Deigo Forlan. Tongue

Joaquin is said to have turned down the chance to go to Man U! I`m sure if they showed him some fresh notes he may reconsider, but perhaps not!

So Geremi and Johnsen have both finally been signed by Chelsea, and they`ve now (4 time lucky) agreed a fee for Damien Duff - likely to be a mear ?17!! While a ?7 bid for Wayne Bridge is mulled over - Southampton say its up to the lad to decide whether he stays or not.

What i`m pleased with (from my neutral perspective) is that Chelsea, despite being linked to, havent gone straight out and brought a load more foreigners! They have been one of the worst teams of recent times when it comes to putting out home-grown players - so bringing in the likes of Johnsen, Bridge and Duff can only be a good thing for the Premiership!

It`ll be interesting to see what Chelski`s odds are for winning the league, sure they`ve shot through the roof, although i doubt they will at least for this first season. We shall wait and see

Well, Well, Well.

Looks Like ronaldinho will not be at Old Trafford next year.

I just hope now we can pinch Duff.

Duff so wants to play for Man Utd... thats why he is taking so long to decide he wants to see if Man Utd get Ronaldinho.

The Ronaldinho transfer was soo badly handled! First off they spoke to his agents (brothers) before the club, they said you should get him for around ?10!

Later Barca say they can`t afford to match Man U`s price

After that we`ve heard Barca accuse them of Man u starting a bidding war!

Ronnie says he favours Real, then Man U but later joins Barca!

Also did you hear that Real Madrid told Ronaldinho not to talk to any teams (ManU) before talking to them! Just so they could get the Beckham deal through!

The football is just so dodgy at the moment, something needs to be done! Just look at the Harry Kewell transfer, Blackmailling the club, and an agent taking ?2m of the fee for "work" he`s supposed to have put in!

On a better note it seem the Mighty Red and Blue army have resigned Neil Shipperley off the Don`s! He scored in a friendly over in Spain - despite not being reported to have played in match reports. Strange, anyhow I look forward to seeing the big man playing up with Dougie next season!

UPDATE - Duff and Bridges now both signed on for Chelski! I think they`ll be in for a class striker next! Supposed to have a ?28.5m bid for that young spanish forward turned down!

Everyones disappeared .....

Thought i would add - Just got back from Palace`s friendly the so called Phillips Cup against PSV, we lost 1-0 (great Van Bommel chip in 1st minute) but was a great match. Good to see a world class side at Selhurst, bit disappointed with some of the players, although seeing my prediction before hand was a 7-2 whooping, i don`t think we did that badly!

We`ve got Chelsea on Saturday which`ll be interesting, i`ll be away in France - gutted about that, may even have Veron playing (not for palace!) which would be cool!

But generally i`m hyped about this season, looking for a top 6 finish - although will problerly get midtable boredom as usual! 14 place for another year! I really do think if we get a good start we should be up there at the end of the season. So what are everyone elses hopes for your team in the 2003/04 season?

I'd love it if Forest got promoted - especially if they stop Sheffield Utd in the process.

The Viera thing is starting to worry me a teeny bit.  I'm sure he will sign, but it's been going on for a liitttllee too long, this time.  Methinks he might be asking for more than we can afford.  Losing Viera would destroy the team.

Good Start to the Season for UTD.

That Cristano Ronaldo looks a player but lets give him a few more games before calling him a superstar.

I'm a Liverpool fan and i just want say after our third game without a win and our failure to score from open play this season that Houllier must go, we are 8 points behind Man Utd..after 3 games!!!!!!!!  The league is over for us and i think a top 10 place is the best we can hope for...

GH must go.

Nah, hang on to Houllier.  People rush to blame the managers too often.

Ronaldo...meh.  Saw him for the first time last night against Wolves, and he was useless.  I was disappointed when he was substituted.  Every time he got the ball he'd do some stupid trick, try to take the whole team on, and lose possesion.

I'm not going to like him very much at all - stupid poster boy. Tongue
