That rugby guy (i really have no more clue about who he is than that - rugby is more boring than doing nothing) is supposed to be taking over at Southampton
Madness.
Because he managed a rugby team that makes him able to manage a football team....despite the obvious inconvenience we are talking about an entirely different sport?
Becoming a good footie manager takes decades of effort - u can't just wonder in off the street ''yeah guys...for this game we're gonna try grabbing the ball running down the lines and then booting it over the goal.....''
Good luck to him
Poor Southampton - they just lost a manger who knew nothing of football...now they are getting one who knows even less!

Their midfield is half of what it was once and the defence needs extensive work...so they buy a striker they don't need for a really sad price
Good call.
Smith, Saha and Van Nistelrooy is a pretty daunting strike force. In fact, it's the only position there is that they have nothing to worry about. They're having injury problems at the moment, but this is what their youth system is for. Only an idiot would try to solve their problem by spending ?27mil on a player who's
already bloody injured to start with!
I really hope Utd do not pull themselves together, but sadly I think that they will. Because they've chosen to blame their poor form on all their injuries (like a bunch of wimpy girls), their confidence will shoot up once those players return. Hopefully we'll be too far ahead by then for them to be a threat, but I doubt it.
Also, Chelsea are scaring the shit out of me. I am starting to think that horrible, horrible manager of theirs just likes winning so much so he can be smug when people criticise him. Gotta say, they
are
winning, and I have a nasty feeling they'll continue to do so. Seriously though, when underdogs scrap through seasons on 1-0 wins it shows character (*coughs and looks uncomfortable*), but when a team that has spent over ?200mil on players in one year has to resort to it, it looks bloody pathetic, as far as I care.

Every big club these days HAS to have 4 world-class strikers. Arsenal is a magnificent well-oiled machine, but if Henry would get injured for more than one-two weeks, shit will happen. Every bad match they had last season coincided with the absence of poor form of Henry

Yes, but they didn't have Fabregas, and Reyes was still being worked into the team after joining late.

If Sven was into taking risks then he would start Defoe and Smith together on Wednesday, because Owen was fucking absent on Saturday. Obviously he won't though.

You are totally right, but we both know that will never happen. But at least Owen is somewhat useful and dangerous in front of goal. Look at Raul!! In the past few years he's turned into a vegetable.

Balls, balls and more balls. First it was Wright, then Bergkamp, then Anelka, then Viera, then Pires, then Viera again and now it's Henry. It'll be Reyes' turn soon.
Arsenal are not, and have never been, a one-man team. We have plenty of cover in every position except for defence and goalkeeper. Our strike-force is the least of our worries. To be honest, I think the player we miss most out of everyone is probably Sol Campbell. Toure isn't at his best when he's not around and Cygan is solid in general but can be very unreliable.
Chris: That goal was fecking terriffic! I wanted to blame the defence at first, but after watching the replay there really wasn't much they could do.

Graeme Souness at Newcastle, what's everyone's thoughts?
I think he's a....competant.......manager, but lets not forget he was underachieving at Blackburn.

Using the word Goalkeeper is a bit flattering isn't it? Lehman is a bit more like a retarded scarecrow. He's a member of the "Shhhh!! I play for a good team and nobodies notice I can't play football" Club. Fabien Barthez and David James are founding members of the same club.

Isn't that the same club that Ray Parlour was in? (I've always fucking hated him, and I never rated him. His goal in the FA Cup final is about the only thing I'll credit with him doing that's worthwhile)

I don't know where you get the idea that James has ever played for a good club from.
Okay, so Liverpool "challenged" for the title when he was there, but it wasn't much of a challenge. Back in the Roy Evans days...
...They were bad times for Spurs. Gros anyone?
Who's, by coincidence of what I'm talking about, team knocked Liverpool out of the UEFA (or actually, maybe it was the champions?) the other year.
Anyway, I digress too much.
Souness is a reasonable coach, but I'd rather have Jaques at Spurs than him personally. Besides, Newcastle are built up more than they should be anyway.

Souness is a crack smoking idiot. What are Newcastle playing at. He's never proved himself as a manager, in all the years as a manager. Oh well, hope they enjoy life as a struggling team.

Suspicous.....maybe they play better with less players, maybe with just the goalie they would be unbeatable

I forget they were playing Wales
I was scratching my head thinking - how the hell did they score two past anyone? Then i had my answer - Wales are well below third rate, but it will be good to see N.I win a game, i'm a sucker for a lost cause

Three Tottenham players in the starting eleven is also a great thing to witness.
