It was kept very quiet.  Me and my dad (both big Arsenal fans) just figured he'd been dropped.  It was only when Ashley was missing for games and Silvinho didn't replace him that we started to get suspicious.  I think that was a pretty big mistake, when there were so many positions you could play him in.

Apprently i heard that silvinho left coz he wanted a 75% play rate in his new contract.

This meant that if he was fit for the whole season he would have to have started 75% of the games.... Wenger said fuck off and silvinho said its either that or he moves.

He was causing unrest so wenger took the first offer.

I thought he was good but not as good as Ashley Cole

Very funny AH, NOT Wink

BTW, this is what Stevie said today about Houllier criticising him after the Basel game.

Taken from www.liverpoolfc.tv

Quote
Gerrard: Houllier was right to criticise me

When Gerard Houllier chose to pull Steven Gerrard up about his poor form after the Basle match, many people were shocked. Not Gerrard though - he insists the boss was right to say what he did.

"The manager had every right to criticise my performance, but it wasn't anything to do with my social life," insists the England midfielder. "I'm paid a lot of money by the club to play football and in the Basle game and four or five games before that, I was not playing to my best. My fitness is fine and I think I'm playing a lot better now than I was."

While Gerrard, a Liverpool fan since birth, is sure he's bacl to his best he makes no bones about the fact that Liverpool have let the fans down recently. "It is a crisis for Liverpool," he says. "We are not used to going through such bad runs of form. We need to pull together so that we can get ourselves out of this rut."

A win today would go a long way to getting things back on track.

Wow, good weekend.

I'm coming closer to forgiving Blackburn after they cheated us out of a place in the Champions League in 96.  At least now there's a small chance United will be knocked out of their stride.  Sadly, unlike Arsenal, Man U actually have some team spirit, and will probably bounce back strongly.

Well, it was just an average win, it looks a lot better cause Utd lost.  I still think they've got the title, but at least, for the first time in a while, we've had a better week than them.

26th December 2002

Remember that date.... this is the date that Arsenal won the 2002/2003 Premership Title.

And no matter what DTH says... with the reverse in fortunes for Man Utd and Arsenal today it hands them a 7 point lead and thats all IMO.

Chelsea are now in the best position to challenge... but they will die off.

Top 5 this season:

1. Arsenal
2. Man Utd
3. Chelsea
4. Liverpool
5. Newcastle

If history has taught us anything, never bet against Man UTD.

I don't think 7 points is enough at this stage of the season.

I'm with Chris.  This weekend has been even better than last weekend for the Arsenal, but this title race is far from over.  My money is still on Man U.

The next two games are hugely important.  Chelsea and Liverpool are both gonna give us really tough games.  I think we'll lose to Chelsea, and draw with Liverpool.

Nope its over.

Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea will lose too many games before the end of the season.

Ok DTH... if you think Man Utd will win.... Lets have a bet. [yes]

I bet you Arsenal win the league before the last game of the season.

You see DTH i think you know arsenal will win but you don't want to say it.... lets say ?20
