But yeah, there is only one guitar. It's odd. It's the only song (even Estranged had) on this album with only one guitar track. And it's one of the best Izzy's work on rhythm guitar on AFD. Really, I can't listen to this version because of this... It's a shame.

Where's that quote from?  It's weird, cos that would then fit in with what I read here;

Izzy was tired of the band, because he wasn't sure if the crowd could hear his guitar parts when they played live. He couldn't hear his guitar parts on the "Use Your Illusion" records either: "On the last record I wasn't around for the mixes, and when they finished them you really don't hear my guitar at all. It was just a big Les Paul through a Marshall sound on most of the songs. Live, it got to the point where I didn't even know if the audience could hear my guitar."

But....wasn't Izzy clean for the Illusion tour?  So does he mean fucked like pissed off or what?

It doesn't suprise me izzy is not on there or was taken out.  look at the sleeves on the UYI albums. Izzy doesn't even play on alot of the songs at all. like Civil War, Shotgun Blues or Locomotive. Not that I approve of him not being on there, But it doesn't surprise me.

Besides a good bit of the songs on "live Era" was re-recorded anyway. As we all know.

Alot of Izzy's stuff was replaced. Alot of the songs have Slash on both lead & rhythm.

Its very true. and if u take a listen to old GNR concerts even with gibly Slash usually dominates the band. you can barely if at all hear the rythem playing of izzy and gilby they are so low in the mix its not even funny. u can most notice it in solos when Slash stops playing the chords and goes into lead. You expecting to hear the rythem strong in the mix like on the albums but you can pick up slash's lead and drums and bass but rythem guitar is no wheres to be found.

I also read that Izzy's only lead on gn'r album is at the begining of "back off bitch". Because slash said he couldn't do it consisantly.
