Will we hear something this week?

As Axl said in his open letter last month, it takes approximatly eight weeks for an album to hit the shelves after its been handed in to the record company. If the March 6 release date is to happen, the record will be handed in next week for the ball to start rolling. I think that when Axl has completed the contract negotiations [as he was talking about in the letter] with the record company, an announcement will follow shortly. If everything goes as planned (meaning no unforeseen obstructions), I believe a firm release date for Chinese Democracy might be made public this week.

What goes for the rest of you?

Oh God, please no.  After day in and day out of "when will we hear?"  "It's this week, no it's next week" all throughout October, November, and December, I was kind of enjoying the bit of calm.  Me, I'm just waiting patiently for March 6.

Interesting point. Thanks for bringing it up, because I totally had forgotton about it with all the holidays n' such.

We very well could see/hear the publicity train wheels start to move if the album's projected release is on schedule.

we've been saying "oh, it'll happen next week" ever since the leaks! And we never got a press release about those!

Finally we got the letter from Axl, but I'm not holding my breath for another pres release anytime soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of the "big guns" at Universal were still on Christmas holidays until the end of this week, therefore if any contracts are going to be signed, Id imagine next week would be the opportune time, not to mention that January 9th (being next Tuesday) is exactly 2 months away from our tentative March 6th release date, and as Axl said, it takes 2 months to get an album to the shelves once the ink is dry on the dotted line.

Id love to be surprised and hear this week that March 6th is now in stone, but to tell you the truth, I honestly have a great feeling that next week everything will fall in place and we will be notified shortly after

Not this week, probably not this month. I'm looking for the last half of February. If things aren't rolling by then, I'm getting worried again. But not now.

Axl said in his letter that if there was a setback, we would be informed, and as of me writing this, I haven't been informed of any setbacks preventing a March 6th release from being a possibility
