Dunno why people are slagging Tool - yes, they have a distinctive sound, but it's their OWN sound, and if you go back to Opiate -> Undertow -> Aenima -> Lateralus -> 10,000 Days, you see a definite progression in their sound/style.

Pittman has worked with Tool
Josh Freese drummed in A Perfect Circle, in which Maynard from Tool was the singer, and Josh was GNR's drummer prior to Brain
Billy from APC was GNR's guitar tech.
