ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA, the band featuring Tommy Lee (M?TLEY CR?E), Gilby Clarke (ex-GUNS N' ROSES) and vocalist Lukas Rossi, will take part in "CD USA"'s broadcast of the "America's Party" New Year's Eve celebration. Also scheduled to perform are FIVE FOR FIGHTING, ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS and SMASH MOUTH.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News, "CD USA" co-host John Wynn admits he's girding himself at the prospect of doing live TV with wildman rocker Tommy Lee.

"My goal is not to die," says Wynn, whose show is broadcasting "America's Party" from the Vegas Strip. "Anytime you get to spend New Year's with Tommy Lee, you know it's going to be fun and exciting. I'm sure Tommy's going to be like, 'Let's jump off the roof of this building.' But if I follow Tommy Lee, I might not be alive, because I think there's only one in one million that could live that life. Tommy's built for that. I'm a little more fragile. I could break."

Also a singer/songwriter who's working on a solo album for release in 2007, Wynn recalls a Lee moment when the drummer "lit himself on fire" during a M?TLEY CR?E performance, "and the drums turned upside down. That alone makes you like a rock god! I probably won't touch that ever in my life, but I can admire it from afar."

Rock Star Supernova was on Fox Cable Channel New Years Eve singing Head Spin.  Did anyone else see this?  I just caught the end of the song.

I didn't see it, all I saw was an interview with Tommy and Lukas. I'd love to see it though, is it on youtube?

I caught this on replay, and I'll have to say I wasn't too impressed.

ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA, the band featuring drummer Tommy Lee (M?TLEY CR?E), guitarist Gilby Clarke (ex-GUNS N' ROSES), vocalist Lukas Rossi and bassist Johnny Colt (BLACK CROWES, TRAIN), took part in "CD USA"'s broadcast of the "America's Party" New Year's Eve celebration from the famous Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. Watch the band's performance at YouTube.com:

* "Leave the Lights On" (video)
* "Headspin" (video)
* "Can't Bring Myself to Light this Fuse" (video)
* "Be Yourself (And 5 Other Cliches)" (video)

As previously reported, ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA frontman Lukas Rossi was videotaped accepting a gold record plaque at the SonyBMG Canada offices for Canadian sales in excess of 50,000 copies of the band's self-titled debut album. Watch the footage at this location.

"Rock Star Supernova" has sold less than 40,000 copies in the United States since its November 21, 2006 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The band, which will kick off a North American tour on January 16, with THE PANIC CHANNEL as support, lost ex-METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted after an accident that resulted in a torn anterior labrum in his left shoulder and a rotator cuff and bicep tear in the right. Newsted suffered the injuries while trying to catch a 90-pound bass head that had fallen from atop his amp. The combination of surgery and a lengthy rehab assignment could leave him sidelined for up to nine months.

They're ok-I don't know-it's an average band, I like Tommy and Gilby a lot, but it just does not blow me away
