Would imagine that it would take place as part of an Asian tour. Only my opinion obviously but would mean they could feasibly play China around the launch date and could fix in with that festival in Mrach in Dubai that still doesn't have a headliner for the last day. Then Australia (didn't Seb Bach say something about being there with GN'R in 2007?), so covering Asia and Australasia (if other countries in these continents are covered) in the first part of the year?
Then South America and back to Europe if things are in order?

Logical but obviously GN'R don't always do things in that manner!  Wink

I think it's a bad plan to come back to europe so soon, ALL big festivals take place around June through-August
and we had a lot of rumours thanks to Richie and BBF that Gnr was coming to Asia and Australia!

Well the drawback with touring asia is that there will hardly be any updaters.

Is anyone on here even remotely close to that region ?

You know there are loads of GN'R fans around those parts so I guess we will get the setlists and so on..

If GN'R have want to do it right, they'll do the red square in febuary, asia/oceania in spring (march/april) and then tour Europe... The lucrative festival season in europe doesn't start untill may! Obviously, there is no sence in touring the US untill winter 2007, GN'R do no business there...

I would think they'd need to release the new album before starting a new tour.

Why does everyone want GNR at festivals so much?
Wouldn't it be better seeing them in a stadium where the only people there are GNR fans?

Perhaps it is because more people will see the new band who otherwise would not. Personally I would rather see a GNR only concert, but introducing the band and new music to thousands of new people has its merits.

Business wise it makes sense, but yeah, I would much rather see Gn'R, or any band for that matter, at their own show. I don't like festivals in general...of course I'll go see Gn'R no matter where they are close to me, but living in Vegas I don't have to worry about festivals I guess.

Where in Russia though?  Moscow or St. Pete?

I can definitely see them going east from that point.  Or south to Dubai for that festival.

The Rolling Stones played in China, so I don't see why GN'R can't play there.

Well, except for this one song during the encore.

GUNS N' ROSES To Kick Off European Tour In Russia? - Dec. 26, 2006

According to NewGNR.com, GUNS N' ROSES is planning another European tour beginning on February 24 in Russia. No further details are currently available.

Rose announced two weeks ago on GUNS N' ROSES' official web site a "tentative" March 6 release date for the band's eternally delayed new album, "Chinese Democracy". In the posting, Rose also revealed he has split with longtime manager Merck Mercuriadis due to disagreements over the set up for the album release.

In order to properly plan for the release, GNR has canceled four January shows in Sacramento, Calif., Bakersfield, Calif., Reno, Nev., and San Diego.

"Chinese Democracy" is the first GUNS N' ROSES album since the 1993 covers collection "The Spaghetti Incident". In the ensuing decade, the group has lost every original member besides Rose and burned through a reported $13 million in recording expenses.

I wonder if Sebastian is going with them?
