I love this album!

I originally got it in MP3 form from a friend online and was completely blown away.  I love all the songs but esspecially the last 3, Rain, Beautiful Disease and Mezz.  Seattle Head is brilliant as well and would have made a great 1st single.

After that I got really lucky and managed to find a promo copy on ebay for just ?38!

I just wish it had been released.  Its an incredible album and its a major diservice to Duff that so many people don't know about it.  Esspecially since it leaves a lot of people juding his entire solo career on Believe In Me.  Which is good but doesn't stand up to his other stuff.

just alittle info thing,
MEZZ is actually a 10 Minute Warning song. just changed lyrics. the 10mw version is cool, butt duff's version is waaay better than 10MW! duff's a great vocalist, if you ask me.

anyway's duff rule!

Accoridng to Duff's fanclub magazine his version of Mezz is taken from an alternate demo of the TMW version, and obvious re-recorded, so there are slight diffrences in the music as well as the lyrics.

Which reminds me, this is a really good site for info about the album:

I'm not convinced the version of BD that's circulating with a cover is legit, but I don't know much about the market.  I know the advance CD was released to media by Geffen and some mags received cover art separately, but they were never packaged together.   I always doubted the news that it was released in Japan on MCA almost a year later, I don't see how or why Geffen would have done that.   And the versions I've seen on eBay with a cover also show a blank green CD from what I can see, looks like a bootleg to me.

I'm not sure about the one that sold for $250 on eBay last month, listed here:

Does anyone know the origins for sure?

who has this one? its Duff's original 2nd solo cd but was shelved by the label. I think its excellent and i just pulled it out after a long time and its sounds really good. great songs, great production and I believe it features guest appearances by Izzy and Slash. oh yeah, one of the songs is a tribute to West Arkeen too!

I hope duff has more input into the next VR cd, because he is really good!

where can i get this record?

I've got the original CD pressed by Geffen and there's no front cover, just the track listing on the back and the disc with the title, etc, stamped with 'Advance'.   (I know it's legit, somebody in Duff's camp sent it to me before the Geffen release date was pulled).

I'd love to see the one Duff was selling at the show.  (Which show?  Loaded?)

This is the one I don't think is legit...

This version is for sure legit:

It's my fav GN'R-member release, really too bad it was got in the Geffen sell-off crunch.

I thought it was great--better than Snakepit or Contraband.

That's right, the first one is a fake, the second one is real. I've got it aswell.
A few years ago a girl called Lori Lepper had a great Duff McKagan board and site: http://duffmckaganonline.tripod.com/, approved by Duff himself.
If I recall correctly there were plans for Duff to sell Beautiful Disease through the site but unfortunatelly Lori was killed.

WOW! i got the CD it is awensome!!!, Duff recorded all instruments and vocals on the album, by himself, with the addition of guests Mike Bordin (Faith No More/Ozzy Osbourne) and ex-Guns N' Roses members Slash and Izzy Stradlin. On tour, McKagan was joined by Dez Cadena of Black Flag, Taz Bentley of the Burden Brothers and Michael Barragan of Loaded and Plexi. My favorites ..."Put You Back" (Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin)-"Hope" "mezz" of course "Seattle head" and "Beautiful Disease"  ok ...And I really love the cover, i like the pic...and the promo session magazine pics....when it came out ,coincidentially was a happier moment in my personal life, so i have a very very cool sensation with this particulary Duff work....I love it!!!
