Judas Priest's "The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Pronged Crown)" (Original by Fleetwood Mac)

never knew it was a cover  Embarrassed

I should look for the original, but damn, I love the Priest version.

i know no one agrees with this..but i enjoy GUns N Roses "sympathy for the devil" more than the Rolling Stones version...let me clarify...i am a big stones fan but I always thought that it was a shit song...i can name 40 Stones songs that are better....with that said I would rather hear GNR play a shit song than the Stones...neither version is very good....but i would rather listen to GNR.....

The Stones version is better.. However the "uh uhs" annoy the hell out of me. The studio version could've been much better. But it's still an awesome song. Not the Stones' best though

I agree ^, no way GNR's version is as good as The Stones

I'd Say

LALD by GNR
Imagination by The Stones
Jolene, Just Dont Know What To Do With Myself, One More Cup Of Coffe, and Death Letter by White Stripes
Rusty Cage by Johnny Cash

There are not many covers that are marked with "ok" in my books, mostly because they slaughter the songs and turn into something it was never meant to be.

Amongst the few covers I acctually like, is the Thin Lizzy version of the Irish folksong Whiskey In The Jar.
Metallica turned it into fail.

I also like the Deep Purple cover of Hallelujah.

Covers are not my style. Done by people who wants to earn money on other peoples art: fail.

i thought Joan Jett had the original I Love Rock N'' Roll, but who is it then?

Gilby Clarke - Mecedes Benz
Green Day - Shout (they use it in the middle of King For a Day live. Kicks ass) Dont know who has the original, some black gospel chick or something.
Guns N Roses - Whole Lotta Rosie! I am a huge Ac/Dc fan, but still, Axl kicks ass in this song!!!
Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal -Jacko
Bumblefoot - Whats new pussycat? :p Tom Jones, aint it?

and the best one EVER:
Dope - You spin me round

Tweeter and the Monkey Man - by the Headstones

I love it much more than the Traveling Wilbury's version.

I also enjoy GnR's version of Knockin' on Heaven's Door better than Dylan's.

That was a Tiny Bradshaw song. He did it in the early 50's. It was one of his biggest hits, but you're right, the Aerosmith cover kicks ass.

I always thought GnR's version of Jumpin Jack Flash was the absolute sheet.
