I've only heard Axl use "Uncle Axl".  My favorite nickname was given by Fortus, maybe Stinson, when they called him "Captain A".

More annoying is fans who try to talk like him on message boards with phrases like "I say , fuck that!" or "Get that guy outta here" and stuff like that. LAME!  peace

I have a better question: Why is this thread so long? Do we have nothing else to talk about other than his nickname?

I remember...either at the London Docklands in 02 or the Osaka show when talking about the 3 album plan.  If it's ok for Axl, it's ok for me!

The "Uncle Axl" phrase started in 2001 at RIR 3 when a GNR cartoon of Axl said Uncle Axl on the screen. Why im not sure, i think it makes him sound older and not trendy. Imagine if Weiland had said "Hi everyone im Uncle Scott" at a VR show, but rarely saying anything else about himself, and without Axl ever using it. I dont think it would work. So i am not sure why Axl does it.
