I am 100 percent sure Maddy will be on the album, so get used to that idea.
What are you a fucking insider now? Go get in the back of the fake insider line that stretches a light year across. You cant be "100 percent sure" it makes the album. That is ludicrous. The only songs pretty much guaranteed to make the cut are his 3 favorites. But those aren't even guarantees. As I've already said, a 7 or 8 track EP would be much better than a 13 track album that has 7 or 8 good songs. We are looking for quality, not quantity. Its a weak track, and you will? admit it yourself whenever Axl does an interview discussing these songs, and how he feels about each song. Just like how everyone called people fucksticks, fags, pussies, etc. who referred to this band as new GNR. Now that Axl calls them that, its the coolest thing in the world.
It is weak lyrically(thats not even open to debate), music's average, and those clips ruin any potential the song had. CITR blows this turd right out of the water. There's a very good chance Madagascar doesn't make the album. Get used to the idea.
First off
"Its a weak track, and you will? admit it yourself whenever Axl does an interview discussing these songs, and how he feels about each song."
What the hell does that mean? What will I "admit"? As for the rest of your post.
1. I never claimed to be in insider. But I am sure Maddy will be on the album. No one told me it will be, but it's safe to assume it will be. They have been playing it at nearly every show for the last five years. They continue to play it now, so ya, I am pretty sure it will be on the album.? Why would they showcase the song at the VMAs, play it on the '02 tour, the '06 shows, only to not release it? Does that make any sense? Oh yeah, I love the MLK/Michael J. Fox clips. Makes it all the more powerful.
2. Having a 7 song EP is the most retarded idea I've ever heard. Maybe YOU think most of the songs are mediocre, but you sure as hell don't speak for the rest of us. So get off your high horse. Having waited 10+ years for a new album only to have a seven song EP would be the most anticlimactic thing the band could ever do. A lot of us happen to like all the leaks and live versions of the songs. And not because we are blind followers, but because we like the songs.
3. Saying the quality (music and/or lyrics) of "Madagascar" is not even open to debate is equality asinine (you're on a roll today James). Just because YOU don't like the song doesn?t mean others can?t.? YOU don't speak for the rest of us.
And I'll just say again that I am certain Madagascar will be on the album. If you want to PM me, I will bet you 50 bucks on that one.

I dont speak for everyone, but YOU do?? Just because you like the song doesn't mean its going to be on the album. If so, could you post the CD tracklist so we can all stop speculating?
As far as your bet goes, its a deal. I seriously think this song gets dropped. The reason it still gets played is because there is a limited amount of new songs that people have heard, and he's scraping near the bottom of the CD barrel by playing that. The absolute bottom is Riyadh and Silkworms.
If 4 new songs were to leak tomorrow, by the Euro tour you would no longer hear Madagascar being played.

I think Madagascar will be on CD and this ismainly to do with the last press statemet that said theyd played almost half the songs off CD with this listed
A shame, because it's a turd - obviously no one has the heart (or balls) to tell Axl it's a turd

I don't speak for the whole board. Never said I did. I stated it was my opinion that "Madagascar" is a good song.
You are stating that it is an indisputable fact that ?Madagascar? is a bad song, when it is nothing more than your subjective opinion. If you don?t like that song, fine, but to say that it being shit is a matter of fact is just not accurate.
Second, if Axl doesn?t intend on releasing ?Madagascar? on the new album, or the follow-up(s) he simply wouldn?t be playing it now. Even if what you say is true and Axl didn?t have a large body of work to choose from and felt ?Madagascar? was a bad song, he simply wouldn?t play it. They have enough songs to choose from AFD/UYI/Lies. Axl isn?t going to play a song he feels is bad just for the sake of playing it.
I have no idea what will be on the album. But it is safe to assume that ?Madagascar? will be, or at the very least on the follow-up(s). ?

The media will have no problem proclaiming Madagascar a turd. Which is a reason why I think it doesnt make the final cut. Axl is not looking for this album to be rejected, and this song guarantees some negativity in each review. This song has "We waited 15 years for this!!" written all over it.
Nixon: You didnt say it was your opinion. You said it was 100% guaranteed to be on the album, and I better get used to the idea. Now you say it might at least be on the follow up. Doesn't sound like a masterpiece to me.

Show me a majority of reviews saying that ?Madagascar? is a bad song. Didn?t Kurt Loder rave about it in his RIO review? And Axl need not pay any attention to reviews. He has to follow his heart or else the album will never come out. He knows a lot of people wont like it and has said as much (when he was at the KORN party).
If I wasn?t clear on ?Madagascar? before, I am now. It is MY OPINION that it?s a great song. Just like it is YOUR OPINION that it is a bad song.
Yeah, and I stand by my belief that it will be on the album. Watching you eat crow will be almost as satisfying as hearing a studio version of the song.
And if ?Madagascar? were to be on the follow-up to ?Chinese Democracy? instead it would take nothing away from the song. Axl has nearly 3 albums worth of material all together, with two being nearly completed (according to Sp!at.) Some songs will be on the first album and some will be on the second. To say that ?Madagascar? isn?t a good song because it is on the second of two albums doesn?t make any sense.? ?
Your belief that ?Madagascar? will never be released because you don?t like it is laughable. Can you cause natural disastrous as well?

I never said it wouldnt be released. I said it wouldnt be on Chinese Democracy.
Using Kurt Loder as an example to back up Madagascar? I guess you didnt know that Kurt Loder now questions whether Chinese Democracy even exists. Wanna keep using him as a reference to prove your point, or do you agree with him?

well I just cant for the life of me fathom why you'd leave off an absolute gem like CITR on your comeback album, and include the earnest plodfest that is Madagascar.
Ive said it before, Axl needs to pack CD wall to wall with the absolute top shelf that he has in the vaults - the 13 best songs he has are what should make up the album.
We can worry about potential follow up albums at a later date. Everything rides on the first one

And as I said before, whether "Madagascar" is on the first or second album doesn't make any difference in terms of the quality of the song.
As for Loder, and if he ?now questions? the existence of ?Chinese Democracy,? I wonder if he stated that before all the recent activity of ?06.

Jameslofton29, how do you do to post nonsense in vast quantities without hardly giving it a thought ?
It's impressive.
How is it possible to consider a mediocre song as Chinese Democracy better than Madagascar ?

He said it about 2 weeks ago.

I agree. It should be a greatest hits of his trilogy he has. I cant imagine Madagascar being one of those hits. No reason to save Big Guns for a second album that will probably never get released.

Maybe you should offer up an intelligent rebuttal instead of just being a smartass. Regardless of how good I think "mediocre" CD is, Axl has stated its the "title track of the record", so it will be on there. If the album was named Madagascar, then I would say that one makes the final cut.

James if your really concerned w/ CD containing 13 of the greatest tracks possible, I think you should
be more worried over C.D. and IRS making the cut.
Merck said IRS wasnt even a top 10 song, now LIVE all of a sudden they seem to love it, and even
Baz mentioned it as a favorite before he even heard it live. (I would speculate he heard them
rehearsing it)...
They also seem to love playing C.D. live....What a let down that is. I dont care what he's naming the
album...DROP this song FAST..The Instrumentals/riffs/etc on it are okay, but the voice/melody/lyrics
are just weak.
Madagascar is next in line...If this song was #10 on the CD, Id be pleased.
Im all for IRS and CD making the 2nd album.

CD will be on this album or none, it doesn't make much sense to release a massively hyped album called Chinese Democracy then on the followup album have a song called Chinese Democracy.

There are no rules about this... and like people have pointed out numerous times (everytime someone assumes CD will be on there), there have been songs in the past that have the same name as an album but aren't included.
Of course it's likely that all of the songs played live will be on there if you read the latest press release. Personally, I hope CD gets dropped.

All the versions of CITR I download has a weird hiccup at 4 minutes and 37 seconds. Does anyone have a perfect version where there are no hiccups or know a site where I can get such a version? Please let me know. Thanks1
