I think the music in CITR is very good, perhaps because of Brain May. The music in the song 'Better' is amazing. Perhaps the Buckethead's arpeggios are a little bit too much in the part 3.24 but otherwise fantastic playing!
still one thing about CITR, the song has everything to become a hit but there are a few points that should be done otherwise. The song starts with great melody and lyrics but then it some way goes to wrong track and comes back to right track..with little redones the song will be a success.

i love this song and after reading pages 1 and 2, all i have to sya is that brian may did play on this. it says so on his website. It's the other guitar (not rythm or solo) that plays melodies panned left.

When i first heard T.W.A.T - Better - I.R.S - Catcher in the Rye i really wasn't sure. It wasn't Guns N'Roses. IRS i liked, Catcher i didn't like, T.W.A.T sounded average and Better as a no go. Now after some time has passed, Better is like my favourite song, I.R.S has faded alittle, T.W.A.T the 2nd half is so good and Catcher in the Rye seems the weakest.
It wasn't until lastnight i played afew tracks from the UYI albums that it hit me. While the new GnR songs sound very different, i like this new sound more, almost to the point of not liking the UYI material. Better and T.W.A.T make even Estranged sound slighly flat.
Looks like i might have to make my way over to the Download Fextival, if only for the finnal gig Smiley

Listened to it again, now I like it ... alot. I still like TWAT and Better the best, but CITR is pretty damn good. I was a dooshbag for bashing the song earlier.

I am officially a huge fan of Catcher.
It took me a bunch of listens but this is what complex albums take to fully appreciate.
Now I cant stop singing it.
So I recommend to anyone who isnt a huge fan of these demos to keep listening cause u definitely pick everything up the more u listen.
Finished versions are always better than demos.

Brain's skills are starting to show through this song. The fills in the last 30 seconds of the song are awesome
I can't wait to hear his contribution to the album(s).

are the lyrics listed anywhere here? (i sure as hell aint going thru 50 pages...) the song kind of meanders aimlessly the first 2 listens (the version i have is 5:30 something long and fades out; is this how it's supposed to be?) on first impression, not in the same galaxy as TWAT, which will be the November Rain of this decade if they can fix the damn chorus.
yeah i know, it seems like teh song ends too quick, maybe theres a longer fade-out of the song

I knew you would eventually start to like this song.
You always seem open minded, and I was actually surprised when at first you didnt like the song. It moved to the top of my list of favorite demos immediately. The music needs a little touching up(my opinion), but the vocals and especially the lyrics are incredible.
When we finally hear the real album, I expect this song to be a major highlight of the album.

Im not sure what it was.
Ive said it many times though, usually stuff I dont like or stuff i literally hate at first usually ends up being a great sign cause that means after I connect with it, it stays very close forever.
stuff I like immediately usually is disposable to me and I listen for a few months and then never listen to again.
Stuff that is challenging and complicated that takes me some listens ends up being in my CD player at some point or another permanently.

I'd bet I would like this song a lot more if it were mixed better. I'd imagine when it's officially released, we'll get a cleaner version, and I'll be happy. I love Queen, Axl, and John Lennon (yes, the song's about him!) so this must be an amazing track. Again, the quality of the recording needs to be upped 100% so I can enjoy it more, though.

THIS SONG HAS REALLY GROWN ON ME. FOR A WHILE NOW BETTER HAS BEEN MY FAV. BUT NOW IT IS CITR ! ESPECIALLY THE LAST MINUTE OR SO. THE VOCAL LADDER HE CLIMBS IS MAJESTIC TO SAY THE LEAST. AXL BRINGS SO MUCH EMOTION TO HIS LYRICS AND ALWAYS HAS AN AMAZING AND COMPLETELY ORIGINAL SENCE OF MELODY.
