I find it funny that CITR is the cloest to the old style gnr (atleast UYI GNR) and those people are not liking it. CITR could be a huge radio hit.

CITR didn't do much for me at first, but now I think that it's not only the best of the leaked demos, but possibly a huge huge hit. It needs polishing, and I personally think Axl needs to ditch that weird new voice. But as a song... a piece of music... this is amazingly good. It actually reminds me of Stones and even Big Star in some ways.

I actually dig Axl's new voice. The nice thing about it is that he swaps from them. Some have different vocal styles which makes it more appealing to listen to.

If the lyrics of Silkworms were on AFD or UYI with different music.. people would be saying how filthy, rock n' roll and cool the lyrics were.
I perfonally like the lyrics.. they are nasty and have plenty of venom.. great to listen to if you're in a filthy mood with your girl

CITR is really not that good.
the chorus is weak. and does not flow.
i like the part where it says " guess i'd have more fun ...." it's just too bad he sings it twice and ruin it...
the song is just .... not epic enough. i dunno. sounds like a fart imo.
silkworms rocks. too bad i havent listened to it since 2001

I was slightly concerend about how much I love Catcher in the Rye (I think that it is the best demo that we've heard; as far as my favourite goes, that changes all the time) and yet some people don't seem to get it. People that I thought would have, because to me this really is an example of a progression of GNR's sound.
...But it looks like you guys who don't like it seem to like Silkworms, which I hate.
Something for everyone, you know, and all that.
As for not being epic enough.......
I wasn't aware that Axl had labelled it such........
What next, November Rain isn't Metal enough?

I agree. To me, CITR sounds like a natural progression of GnR. Better and IRS sound like GnR trying hard to sound modern (even though I like both of those tracks a lot, too).
CITR sounds like a classic GnR epic. Love it. Love it. Love it.

Yes, "CITR" is an amazing song, and I really hope that they?ll play that and "Better" once they come to Sweden.
(twat is alright, but fails with a bad chorus=(

It's growing on me. When I first listened about 5 or 6 times, the song just felt like it was missing something, but at the same time had too much of other things (there are still too damn many vocal lines!!). But now, I like it more, but I can't figure out why.
The only thing that's bugging me is that I'm really not sure if the song has more ties and references to the Lennon assassination or to the Salinger book (my favorite book of all time, I might add). I re-read some of the book last night while listening to the song a few times and certainly notice some connections all throughout the song. But there are connections to Chapman killing Lennon too (especially the end of the song). Maybe it's a little of both?

are the lyrics listed anywhere here? (i sure as hell aint going thru 50 pages...) the song kind of meanders aimlessly the first 2 listens (the version i have is 5:30 something long and fades out; is this how it's supposed to be?) on first impression, not in the same galaxy as TWAT, which will be the November Rain of this decade if they can fix the damn chorus.
there's just nothing that grabs you, no hook, tho i like that middle breakdown part....overall i think the song kind of sounds Beatles-ish, sort of avant-garde pop, but with no hooks or riffs...

Its starting to grow on me.'
Thing is with the demo, its a good song when Axl is singing but when he isnt singing I just want to fast forward it.
The music is ok but it doesnt grab me on the demo.it is just a demo though so Im giving it the full benefit of the doubt

Its about fucking time!
I know what you mean about boredom setting in when Axl stops singing. All the demos(maybe the exception being Better) suffer this same fate. Axl's talents are light years ahead of his bandmembers, and it really shows in these songs. The music on these songs is good, I'm not insulting the other members, but they definitely need to kick it up a notch.

I hope so cause they dont hurt the song but they do nothing to elevate it either in my opinion.
