Like a lot, love GN'R

This one is clearly a winner... CD will truly be a melting pot... if I want a rocker I listen to IRS, if I wanna be angry I do that with better and if I just wanna feel good and dream I tune in CITR... absolutely gorgeus... what a ride will this be for all of us... not to forget madagascar and chinese democracy... only twat and blues i dont care much about, like both nevertheless... it will be what it was said it will be... a masterpiece... its a good feeling i was here for all this years, believing in axl and this record and this band, it was hard and before these leaks I was losing hope, well... its nice to know that dreams sometimes do come true

Robin sounds like Brian May on the blues.

HA! nice vague answer ok , so ppbebe, who do you think is playing the Guitar on CITR?

Is it May who is trying to sound like Robin on CITR? hihi

I think Robin is capable of making this solo but somehow this one sounds less crisper than Robins on the blues....
hummmm undecided..

It sure would be nice if someone could post an opinion that contradicts everyone else on the board without being told that they are just looking for another appetite or UYI album.  Like I said, I am lukewarm to the song, don't really like the vocals, but there are some parts that I genuinely like, and the fact that it is a demo I think I will hold opinion on the vocals, because some of the demos for AFD and UYI didn't sound anything like the album versions.

That being said, just because someone doesn't like this particular song does not mean that they are narrow minded and just want a rehash of the Illusions or Appetite.  Just because someone does something different from what they had done before doesn't mean that it is going to be good.  I do however admire his courage in trying something new, but right now CITR just isn't doing it for me.  I don't hate it, I just put it on par with something like "breakdown".  I loved Twat, I.R.S and Better though.

The thing is...some of the comments from those not liking the song have been "It doesn't sound like a Guns n Roses song".  What other conclusion can you draw from a comment like that...because the only basis for making that comment, or comments like them, is that you want them to sound like the old GnR..thus AFD or UYI.

It's OK to just NOT like the song.  But it's not really OK to prejudge it because it doesn't "sound like GnR"...or what you (the collective you, not you specifically) think "GnR" should sound like.

Exactly. Most of the time, people who are against the songs are just whining about the same old thing ("Where's my rawk n' roll??" "Where's my Paradise City??"), so criticisms regarding them expecting another AFD or UYI are totally valid.

Sounds a little bit too much like Ozzy Osbourne rather than Queen for my liking. Has potential, though.

I like this song, lyrics are little bit unexpected, need to read them a couple of times to get it. Really nice tune and I still think this album will be great yes

This is fucking axl rose......this has fucking great melodies and great elements....the synths breakdown...Brian May's geeetaar. great!!! Comparing this too VR is rediculous to say the least. This one is surperior to anything what VR have down till now. (And I do love VR too by the way)

i know but still.. vr sucks (imo) but they arent THAT bad..

the first thing i thogut when i heard this was:

'is this the Beatles?'

the second was:

'shit, i guess axl wasnt kidding when he said some of this wouldnt sound like guns.'

I think there's a really epic track in here somewhere, but the warping of the source tape and poor mixing doesnt do the concept justice.

I can't believe that's anyone playing guitar besides May.? The licks are just classic Queen, and the tone is so unique to Brian that I'd be really suprised if they manufactured it for someone else.? Of course, I wasn't there...

can you post some comparisons to CITR like i did? seriously, I'd like to try and figure this out ok

But i think it's Robin, it sounds like the blues. Also, why get a guest appearance as a demo track? The band members are virutally unknown, showcase their talents first, everyone knows May is great.

@ Catcher In The Rye (Dont Try Me) - did you review my evidence?

yup mate, saw it....maybe your right........ I'm now on 70% Brian May and 30% Robin.... ?hihi still, I like to think it's Brian May......... cause of the red special kinda sound........but since this is a demo....its hard to tell cause much of the real charm of the red specials sounds gets lost due to the bad quality..... sounds very queenish still......?

On what we surely can agree is that whoever did the solo rocks!

It's a pretty sweet track... I like TWAT and Madagascar way more, but this is nice.

Is it finished though?  The way it goes out it sounds like it still has some song left in it Undecided

Sounds like it came from tape. This doesn't make sense, the others seem like they came from a CD. Unless someone transfered the demo CD to tape, but I don't know why they would do that.

Yep, someone has definately taped this. If they have the CD ask yourself 'why'...?

I think quite a few people have this demo CD, not just one or two.  confused

i agree, i believe we will have prostitute and the general soon.

also, i have to agree. the song seems like it continues. its very possibal that the person who leaked the 9 seconds, edited this version also before he leaked it. even if the song is full, im happy with it. the song (with or without Brian May) has heavy queen influinces. i mean, i felt like i was listing to a queen song the entire time and i loved every second of it.

yeah I said it didn't sound like gnr..  Never said I liked or disliked it because of that, it's just so different to me..

I also think there are too many (my personal feelings) softer songs or ballady songs.. Doesn't mean I don't like them thought... I happen to like most of the rockers so far the least, irs or CD....

You have to remember though using the gnr name you kind of think of the only gnr music you know so you have a few expectations of style of songs..

As I said it's got a cool vibe, it's pop rock that is very likable and will be a very cool single..

It's starting to grow on me.  Before I was lukewarm, but now I would have to say that I like the song, just not one of my favorites, the lyrics really push it over the top imo.  And I noticed a couple of other people mention this, but Axl does sound like OZZy in quite a few parts, especially when he sings, YOU DECIDE.

That's how I felt about it.  I downloaded it before bed last night and only listened to it twice and went to bed not liking it that much, but now that I've listened to it a lot more (with headphones and without) I now see how good of a song it is.  I'm really digging it. Cool  I still think most of the other new songs are better tho.
