It must be your American ears, because this sounds
nothing
like Oasis, my friend.
maybe I just thought of the two songs I mentioned above... Brief thoughts not the whole thing... Maybe strawberry fields or yellow submarine

Here's my question, where did the cleaner version come from? Did someone just clean up the other one? Or does no one know?
DunkinDave I believe cleaned it up.
I have another version (from somebody else) that is even better. Not sure what he did, but everything is much more clear. He did the same thing with the other songs too.

Like "TWAT", it gets better with every listen - but it doesn't blow me away like "TWAT" does.
I'd say its my least favourite of the four, but its still a good song.
I can't stop listening to this, I still can't believe this wil be tagged gnr or that axl rose is singing it... it's so different, I feel like I am high
I definetly like it better then IRS

Its hard to form an opinion with the quality so horrible.
Why is the quality so horrible compared to the previous 3?

Well, we don't know where any of them are sourced from - but CITR is obviously sourced from a cassette tape.

I think it was sourced from tape; there are rumors that this song was an unauthorized internal leak, but no proof evident yet.
Anyone think that axl could run into some taste issues here since the song itself examines the state of mind of MDC as he decides to gun down Lennon? The melody has a beatles quality to it.

And I'm 89% sure it's Brian May......if it's Robin then I take my hat off for him ofcourse. Brilliant solo's great feel. love it.
89% huh
I really think that it is Robin, The Blues and CITR have the same hesitant, deliberate style of picking
Listen to CITR 2:26-2:51 and compare to The Blues 2:17-2:40
outros are pretty similar too on both songs
Here's the copy of
THE BLUES
i used

It's gotta be Robin I'm almost positive

I can't believe that's anyone playing guitar besides May. The licks are just classic Queen, and the tone is so unique to Brian that I'd be really suprised if they manufactured it for someone else. Of course, I wasn't there...

can you post some comparisons to CITR like i did? seriously, I'd like to try and figure this out
But i think it's Robin, it sounds like the blues. Also, why get a guest appearance as a demo track? The band members are virutally unknown, showcase their talents first, everyone knows May is great.

Robin sounds like Brian May on the blues.

It sure would be nice if someone could post an opinion that contradicts everyone else on the board without being told that they are just looking for another appetite or UYI album. ?Like I said, I am lukewarm to the song, don't really like the vocals, but there are some parts that I genuinely like, and the fact that it is a demo I think I will hold opinion on the vocals, because some of the demos for AFD and UYI didn't sound anything like the album versions.
That being said, just because someone doesn't like this particular song does not mean that they are narrow minded and just want a rehash of the Illusions or Appetite. ?Just because someone does something different from what they had done before doesn't mean that it is going to be good. ?I do however admire his courage in trying something new, but right now CITR just isn't doing it for me. ?I don't hate it, I just put it on par with something like "breakdown". ?I loved Twat, I.R.S and Better though.
The thing is...some of the comments from those not liking the song have been "It doesn't sound like a Guns n Roses song". What other conclusion can you draw from a comment like that...because the only basis for making that comment, or comments like them, is that you want them to sound like the old GnR..thus AFD or UYI.
It's OK to just NOT like the song. But it's not really OK to prejudge it because it doesn't "sound like GnR"...or what you (the collective you, not you specifically) think "GnR" should sound like.

Where was that? At Brian's site? I have every Queen studio album and it sounds everything like Brian and not much like Robin to me. I could well be wrong but it smacks of classic Brian.

That was apprently at his site, but it wasn't a 100% answer, because she said she wasn't sure, and that Brian was on the road, AND that he had forgotten which tracks he had done at this point.
So, take it as a maybe
