i have yet to hear the song yet, would be nice if i could but in reply to someones comments earlier that, its a tribute to john lennon, i believe it would make sense as the guy who killed him was a fanatic of that book and belived he was the main character from that book or so some documentarys iv seen lead me to belive.
(sorry if this has been covered but aint had time to read all the posts so far)

How great is it that we are having a debate whether CITR is better then the 3 other new fucking GNR songs we have. Who the fuck would have ever believed we would be having this debate last year?
As for me....I swear to fucking god that this is so much like a McCartney song that it is driving me crazy I cant remember the track of his that is earily like it. The part oif the chorus where Axl sings "Cather and the Rye again..." is fuck...I am going to think of the Paul song that this sounds like. Tip of the fucking tongue. Obvious the lala fuckin la is very Beatles. You know...wonder if that was the point. Axl making Beatles esque music for CITR. I would love to hear him say that.
As for how this places... I still like the first 3 leaked tracks more. They are music that seems really fresh and different. CITR as I said above, is music I have heard before. Its a very nice track. Not taking that away from it. Its just nothing new. This will never be the first single as some of you are saying. ?The first single can't be a song like this. "Axl took 10 years to right music like this?" First impressions. The single has to blow people away, kick their asses, and make them remember who GNR is again.
This album is really going to be fucking awesome. We can't even decide what awesome track we like the most...

Very retro sounding, adds a nice contrast to the other 3 demos. Not had the chance to let the lyrics sink in yet. Definitely see a McCartney/Beatles influence updated for `06.

Again, the mix needs work. But other than that it reminds me of some UYI stuff and, for some odd reason, puts me in the mind of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and a tiny bit of "Strawberry Fields".
It definitely has Beatles-esq moments to it (the la la's, actually, for example), which I enjoy. In addition, it shows, again, that the quality of material on this album is pretty remarkable.
Oh, aye.
If we're looking for Beatles moments, also look no further than around the two minute mark, just before a few la la's......
That bit's great! Bit of Sargeant Peppers........
yup
yup

yup!

I haven't heard this one yet. I am very torn. Should I wait? Rate the song. Is it as good as TWAT?
It is better IMO.

Coming in from the northwest, with high pressure in the valley until Sunday night.
Should be cool and breezy with moderate banning throughout the remainder of the week................

The new songs are like marijuana on this site. You cant just ask for then or ya gonna get in trouble. But everyone wants them & if you're smart you'll find a way.
Ond difference - no one should have to pay for these songs ( untill CD is in the store).

I think the final version of this will be incredible.
It feels like it could be the perfect closing song on the Chinese Democracy CD.
