Q: Do you know what Axl says about Queen?
 
B: He likes Queen very much, its his favourite band. Freddy Mercury liked Axl very much. Axl even made
a tribute to him the second day of Rock in Rio. Axl is still Brian May's friend. He playes the guitar in one
of the new songs.

Q:What's the reason for the CD delay?

F:It's like every time he tryies to do something, anything always goes wrong. As if everything was going well, but suddenly the guy who's responsible for some technical detail makes a mistake, for example. I can say it cause I was with him in the studio and it's unbelievable, it's like something tries to bring him away from this project. I listened to the new CD, and I can say that all the songs are beautiful, not even one track is there just to fill in space. The CD might have 16 or 17 tracks and they're all very strong. I don't say this because I work for him, or because I'm his friend, my friends, for example, when they listen to some track, they always pay compliments. Catcher in the Rye, That's called the Blues, Chinese Democracy, they are all very beautiful.

This fits with us thinking Brian May plays on the demo.

The only favor he could do us is if he sent us the other songs and then ran STRAIGHT into on coming traffic.  I'd thank him for that for sure!

Well, it sure sounds like that's Brian May on the guitar solo in the middle, and if I'm not mistaken he did his recordings in 1999 so you're probably right

I dunno about the date, but to me, the vocals sound MUCH more like they did in '02 than any of the other demos. BTW, anyone notice the apparent lack of Mr. Bucket on this one?

If you're familiar with cassette tapes, you know that during fade-outs at the end of songs that tape hiss becomes dominant in the mix.

That happens in this track at the end, but it seems like the rest of the fade-out was cut off.

But if the leaker got this from a CD, it might have been dubbed that way from cassette to CD.

Guess we'll never know for sure.

True.. but wasnt it said that vocals werent done on a lot of song.. So maybe the vocals were layed down in 01-02.
