I wonder how much axl wrote in these songs, was it a group effort or all axl?? Did he arange the playing and do all the vocals or what??
I would lay my money on him writing all the lyrics. He knows the success or failure rides on his shoulders alone, and I'm sure wants all the song writing credits(money) mostly for himself. But thats how I want it. This album will tell a story, maybe not a concept album, but a story of his state of mind, and maybe even why he disappeared for so long. I dont want any 'hired guns' cluttering that up.

I guess he would want this to be on his shoulders.. I rather him just actually tell me where he's been then sing it to me.. hihi

I'm anxious for rio to see what he says and plays if there hasn't been an album announcement yet.. I really worry being it's march 2nd already that he is headed to europe without a release date, unless he is waiting for right before he goes..?

I never look at the times unless I am trying to fidn something, but I hear spots of things all over... I was thinking can't fight this feeling when the song starts

Did anyone notice the following in the song?!:

at 1:42 till 1:47, when you listen to the song in headphones there's an truly awesome piano solo thingy under Axl's wails! Axl or Dizzy goes all over the piano from the left to right and back if you know what I mean!! I just noticed it when I was listening to it with headphones. It's a bit back in the mix.

Yeah, the piano is being played in the background the entire time, its just way back in the mix around this part in the verse.

You must be listening to the song LOUD on your phones.   Shocked

Thats what I heard also. If this song came on the radio in the early 80's, and you just heard that intro, people would think it was new REO.

It`s funny how many of us judge about the song in poor demo quality. It`s the same for Better, TWAT and I.R.S. For me CITR is very strange song. It`s not like anything that GN`R made before, but in the same time sounds very familiar and from distance of 20-30 years. I like it. I bet this songs in album version will sound jsut great.

well this is basically an give your opinion on the song thread... You can only judge what you hear. Of course the final version is going to be better, and possibly different being this song is old already

I think everyone needs to remember the beginning of the UYI tour when it comes to these worries. ?Geffen had pushed back the release date several times before they started touring. ?The tour began as a way to force the label into releasing the album...the tour started in May....I remember the day I heard the official release date...2+ weeks AFTER their 2 shows in Noblesville, IN that I attended...in June when YCBM started hitting the airwaves. ?That's effective strong-arming. ?Honestly, with them doing all these summer shows again, I am sure we will hear either shortly before, or sometime shortly after, when the release date will be. ?My hunch is still June/July...makes a hell of a lot more sense than these March-May release dates people speculate on with nothing to back it up. ?Relax...Axl has learned from his mistakes of 2002. ?He would not risk half-empty venues because of no promotion/buzz about the band. ?Man...its crazy to think almost 4 years have passed since that little ray of hope fizzled.

Yeah but the illusions was different. sure some push backs, late srping, then around august then eventually september..  This time around it's been way longer and they already did the cd tour with no album and gnr is no where near as popular in 02 as in 91 (well at least in usa)

I think axl only needs an album release for the states because that no album festival shit seems to fly in places like rio.. But they shoudl just use the leaks to build up a date soon.

Do you guys think the 'na na na' part could have been an intentional 'ripoff' from 'Hey Jude', since that song is about Lennon's son?

Someone might have brought this up already. I dont remember.
