I'm surprised no one in their late 20's or older has picked up on the REO Speedwagon influence. Is it intentional? Anyone know if Axl has ever mentioned liking their music?
I haven't heard CITR so I can't say one way or the other...but, really?
I hope not! REO Speedwagon?
The Beatles...great! Queen? Great! REO Speedwagon?
Or am I forgetting some really great REO songs?

The queen beatle influence is unmistakable, it definitely has a 70's feel in some guitar parts.

I agree, and I'm still convinced it's Brian May's work

I was just curious about what your opinion was.
Yeah, I didnt necessarily mean you....I remember reading a post claiming that I said GNR wouldnt get modern rock airplay (I think it was Ds) and just thought Id set that issue straight.
Its contemporary music and itll have major buzz. I believe Falcon sets LAs KROQ as the modern rock standard and Im not familiar enough with that station to say with confidence whether theyll play new GNR, but weve already seen the likes of Bostons WAAF play them and so will WYSP in Philly and NYs K-Rock (or whatever lame "Free FM" moniker it uses). KROQs format might be more "alternative" the others, but I can still see a single getting played.

Was CITR one of the tracks where some orchestration work was done? Don't remember the names, but wasn't it two different musical composers (one of them scored T3) who worked with GNR.. Anyone know the names of the tracks the different composers did?

When you hear this song, you will know what I'm talking about, since you seem to be familiar with REO's material. The piano on this song, and especially the intro, sound very similar to REO's early 1980's pop ballads. The influence is there. Someone who thinks I'm crazy has either never really heard their stuff or hasnt heard it in so long they forgot what it sounds like. Or they just hate that an REO comparison has been made to GNR.

I'm not THAT familiar with REO Speedwagon. So, I guess I've forgotten what they sound like. I can only think of "I can't fight this feeling anymore...I've forgotten what I started fighting for..."
It was ok at the time...but not something that I think of as great now.

Good point.
During each of the other songs leaking I got hundreds of requests inPMs. This one I had about 20. Either more people shared, or not as many wanted to hear this song.
It's obvious people shared last night. There's no way that both? here and mygnr could be suddenly littered with people who had heard the song all at the same time. Had nobody shared and only one person sent out the song it would've taken all night for it to spread. Last night it spread like wildfire. this thread went from like 3 pages to 17 pages in about an hour. The pm's asking for the song ahven't stopped. At least not for me.

This song does have a Beatles comparison, when I heard I reminded me of a Beatles sound, damn and now it does remind mem of a Queen song as well.
Damn I'm liking what I am hearing!! This will be a masterpiece once it is mastered.
I guess I'll have to get out some old Reo records blow the dust off them and give it a listen.

Ok...these last posts aren't requests but make it readily apparent to anyone reading that you have the song and are willing to share. Care to go back and modify them before I do it for you?

I'm just stateing a fact. I had requests for songs before I ever had songs assuming I have songs now. People are just out there asking anyone for songs. How else are they/we supposed to go about it. We can't post links and we know that and respect that but are we expected to lie about having the songs now too? If so this entire thread and ever single thread discussing these songs should be locked because it's also painfully obvious that the people discussing them have the songs. I didn't offer anything. People can pm me all they want thought right? It's their perogitive to ask but making statements like the song was shared and the pm requests haven't stopped do no more harm than discussing the arrangement of the song.? I supose I could edit my post but I don't see the point and I wouldn't know what parts to edit because all I did was point out obvious reasons as to why I think/know the song was shared. It spread way to fast not to be shared. Not talking about it won't change the fact that people on this board and other boards shared the song.

Its hard to form an opinion with the quality so horrible.
Why is the quality so horrible compared to the previous 3?
The source sounds like a cassette tape

It seems like most people like this song, several people who don't like it mentioned they didn't like Axl's vocals specifically, but I have to say I think the vocals are really great in this song, verse and chorus. Regardless of any additional work that might have been done to this song, this very vocal track with properly mixed instrumentation would sound fantastic!
One thing I find amazing is that in these 5 songs (Oh My God + newer 4) we basically have Axl singing in 5 different ways, and they are all excellent. One of the first things I noticed about Appetite was that he could sing in so many different ways.
