"How can you not see that? Its not mindlessly heavy rock with screaming all over the place, but the lyrics, the bridges, the chorus, the solos and the whole atmosphere of the song is fantastic. Its also got more classic GNR in it than the other leaks."

busngabb,

No where did I ever say I didn't like CITR. I never said it because I do like it. I think its a real pretty song. But saying that, how can you say the other songs are just mindlessly heavy rock with screaming? You fucking lost me there. Man you are up for a real disappointment if you don't like the other leaks. They are Brilliant. They are trippy and transcend anything I have ever heard. CITR is a beauty. But its not as original as IRS/Better/TWAT. I know when I think GNR, the word that doesn't come to mind is, mellow. CITR is a pretty song. But I want more. I am so fullfilled by the first three leaks that knowing that there is a mellow track like CITR is cool. But if you don't dig the heavier material then brother...CD isn't going to be for you. Because even tracks like Madagascar has a heavy theme and certaintly isn't mellow like CITR.

Man, what is goin on with some of you? Some are sounding like they would prefer an album of just soft tracks from GNR. GNR kicks ass, deal with it.

HannaHat,

that is good to hear. IRS kicks my ass hard. Fucking love this shit. Great attititude. Better is some sweet fucking hard shit to...and with that dark eary riffs and beats its a badass. TWAT is fucking mad genius. And CITR is pretty.

Even though I'm really digging this song, I don't think everyone should be up in arms about how it might represent the overall sound of the forthcoming CD.
What if you only heard demos of So fine, My World and Shotgun Blues before UYI I and II came out? The albums is clearly going to have an assortment of rockers, epics and ballads. I'm sure the final CD will please all of us, but these are still just demos.
Let's just enjoy each song for what it is (whether you love it or think it's mediocre) and make broad judgements about the overall GNR sound when we get the REAL DEAL!
 beer

well said, It's just after 3 kick ass tunes I feel as though this is a step back into the 90's, and GnR of the 90's reminds me of their breakup and that makes me sad Cry

rofl rofl kidding, I'm in a mood to rock out today, not in the mood to slow dance at a school prom hihi so my opinion is skewed

And i never said i din't like CITR either, it's just i like the other three tunes more ok infact I'd put this song down about #5 or 6 on the list of news songs we've heard since the beginning 2001

I think we';re in for a real treat of an album. cuz it just blows my mind that this track is my 6th favorite tune so far

To those putting IRS so fucking low...What the fuck?!

Are some of you just not into rocking anymore? IRS kicks so much ass. Fucking shocked by some of you.

The other thing is, just because someone isnt into CITR doesn't have a thing to do with this "division on the new material theory."

If someone loves the shit out of every leak but CITR then I think the overly loving CITR fans are in the minority on this album.

That might have come out wrong. What I mean is most songs I believe are going to be the new sounding shit of the first 3 leaks. The ones who love CITR most might like CD less then the rest of us.

I love ALL the new demos!

So do I

Well, the reason that people are so mean to people who don't like catcher in the rye is because most people love CITR.

I am one of those that love it.---

I myself do not see how you can like T.W.A.T. but you don't like CITR?

They are 2 different songs is how. btw. I'm haven't said my opinion on either of the songs.

It's totally stupid to try and diss some people if they don't like a song. I'm pretty sure you understand that music is very, _very_ subjective. Now just because 2 songs are fast, or slow, or have some similarities, doesn't make it impossible for one to like the other and dislike the other.

TWAT and CITR are very, very different. All these songs we have heard going back to OH MY GOD, are so different from one another.

did it ever occur to you people have different tastes in music and not everyone has the same opinion.......personlly this song doesn't do much for me after 5 listens

and yes...i like TWAT much more than this, along with IRS and Better.......

and don't even get me started about comparing this to some of GnR's earlier material

but I mean, it's a decent song

but for example, say i went to see GnR live, I wouldn't  Cry if they didn't play this

I love this song more then TWAT at the moment........CITR does have awesome melodies, the chorus, etc, everything fits......Brian May's guitar playing.......awesome.....the breakdown with synths.....some of the highlights......that doesn't mean I don;t love the other songs by the way...... I love every single one of them......But this one really works for me. I think everyone will have a different favorite on CD. Isn't that great??

It's amazing the wide range of views on this ?song in particular.
We all love GnR, but since their sound is so varied, we react a lot differently to new demos when we hear them.
I happen to think this song is truly amazing, and think Better sounds like just an above average rock song. ?In my opinion, it's the fact that AXL can pull a song like this off that makes it more special: ?the arrangement, the melodies....etc....

I hope that if CITR is on the final version of CD, people will eventually embrace it more in in it's final version, and is the context of 1 of 13 tracks on the entire CD, not just as a "dated" demo version.

Not too sure about this one yet.  Lips Sealed

Just heard it for the first time. I'm gonna reserve judgement until I've given it a few listens.

this take doesn't groove me on a level with better or IRS...

People got to learn that tastes differ. Otherwise, the world would be hell boring.

Anyhoo, My world kickass.   Viva the differences!

Everyone will find at least a few fav songs in Chinese Democracy. peace

it must be a verey early demo, I'm sure it was even before 1999 or 2000. The piano melody (intro) sounds really good. But it's really is a "pop" song.

Yeah um... I'm not into this one. Doesn't really do it at all for me. It might be one of those things that grow on ya, but I doubt it.

Usually, right when the song starts I know if I'm gonna like it or not. Don't really know man, it just didn't pull me in the rest of the demos.

this song is great.  i didn't like it at first, I thought it sounded dated, etc., but the more you listen to it the better it gets.
