The version I have is 5.37 and it's slowly fading out towards the end, I reckon there's maybe another 10-15 seconds to the song where it completely fades.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already (too many pages to scroll through) but I believe the song is about Mark Chapman, the man who shot John Lennon. He aparently had a fixation for the 'Catcher In The Rye' Book by J.D. Salinger. The chorus of "wish I had a gun" suggests this to me.

This is the one track from the leaks that has been a continuous "grower". I find myself working away singing this song to my workmates, I'm suprised because at first it was my least favourite.

The lyrical depth and axls sweet vocal melodies make this a joy to listen to.

"Everytime I see them makes me wish I had a gun, if I thought that I was crazy well I guess I'd have more fun."

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!

It sounds so heartfelt. Cry

How could Axl not put this on Chinese Democracy. I mean, to have Brian May come in and then NOT put catcher on the new album? it'd be a waste...that is unless of course, they cut Catcher to make room for Silkworms hihi

Honestly, CITR is my absolute favorite song that Axl's ever done lyrically. And musically, it's so mellow and beautiful - All it needs is a solid outro rather than a fade out.

It's by far my favorite song of the leaks, and I sincerely hope that this song isn't forgotten by the band. It's a gem, and I can easily see it becoming a new classic.

They'd better not cut May's guitar part from it though. It makes the song.

i get the feeling that this song isn't going to be on Chinese Democracy. Axl really downplayed the track on Trunk and it's the only leak he didn't play live at least once. he also seemed to hint that Brian May's solo was just for the demo.

really hope it is on Chinese Democracy, really is one of the better of teh new tunes, some great lyrics and melodies in that tune, not quite my favourite new tune, thats gotta be "Better" closely followed by "TWAT", my god the new tunes are sooo good, never been so excited over demo's before in my life!!!!

I don't know if this should be taken seriously since you can't seem to find the Caps button... but I honestly don't think so.  Which is a shame because it's a great song, but it's so old and I just don't get the feeling he plans on including it.  I just hope it's released in a final version somewhere down the road.

Yes, people need to chill out and not be so controlling. What's the big deal?
